With many exciting things ahead of us this summer, a new and improved logo seemed fitting. We are also having a new, larger stage built to accommodate more musical acts. To kick off the market season there be will an open market at Wolf Creek on July 2. There will be vendors from last year’s market as well as a water slide, live music, and lots of family fun. Two of the vendors returning from last year are Simply Eden and Rocking Wings. Don’t forget the OVOM is every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to dusk starting July 7, our first official market day. The Market is located at 2405 N Hwy 158, in Eden, in the lot next to the Century 21 building. Head south from the inter- section at Valley Market and the Maverick gas station. As market season approaches and more vendors submit their applications it seems fitting to highlight some of the fun evenings ahead of us. On July 28 there will be a best dressed pet contest-bring out your furry friends and say hello! On August 11 the theme is “What I Want to Be.” On September 8 the theme is “First Responder Appreciation.” More information to come about these themes as the dates get closer, but for now mark your calendars. If you’re interested in being a vendor for the 2016 OVOM, check out our website and submit your application to <ogdenvalleyopenmarket.com> Hurry and get them in before market season is in full swing! OV Chapter of Sons of Utah Pioneers Announces Tour to Historic “Cache Cave” The Ogden Valley Chapter of Sons of Utah Pioneers announces a tour of yet another of Utah’s historical sites. We plan to trek to the location of the historic “Cache Cave” near Evanston, Wyoming on June 18. This early site played a significant role in the arrival of the Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley. Plan to meet at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Huntsville, Utah LDS chapel. We will travel by personal vehicle or carpool to the Fawset ranch near Evanston, Wyoming. Those desiring to attend may also meet at the Fawset Ranch at 9:00 a.m., if preferred. On the return trip, plans have been made to also view the “Battlements” in Echo Canyon that were associated with the military threats in the early days of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All those interested are invited. Please coordinate with Jon Werner at 801-391-2223. You may also call Jon for additional information. Tribute to Debbie Biccum Debbie Biccum, who was recently killed at Lakeside Village Condominiums near Huntsville, was loved by many of her friends from Ogden Valley. We recently held a gathering of supporters at Lakeside Village tennis courts to express our friendship and love for Deb. Flowers, notes, cards, and letters were left. She is alive in our thoughts and prayers.
