She returned to New England to live out her later years in the town in which she raised her family. Mother made many friendships in Utah, including those in the South Davis Garden Club and in her LDS wards. She was predeceased by her oldest son Peder in 2008, and leaves five other children: Betsy (Allan) Wiscombe of Eden; David (Kathy) Johnson of Dunbar, Nebraska; Nancy Garreaud of Salt Lake City; Samuel (Karen) Johnson of Keene, New Hampshire; and Andrea (Cornell) Evans of Centerville. She also leaves 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Marlborough, New Hampshire on June 10. Phyllis Ruby Johnson Fierro of North Ogden. Phyllis was an avid gardener, amazing cook, and an excellent seamstress who sewed clothes for all of her daughters and their Barbie dolls. She had a long career in the retail industry, selling jewelry for Gibsons Discount Store and cosmetics for the Bon Marche and ZCMI. Her lasting advice to “just put Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream on it” will be fondly remembered, if not always followed, by all of her daughters. Phyllis was a member of the L.D.S. church, a descendant of Brigham Young’s sister Rhoda Young, and an exceptionally loving and devoted wife and mother who was always available to guide her daughters and grandchildren through life’s trials and tribulations; she will be greatly missed by all of her family and numerous friends. Phyllis was remembered at a graveside service on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Ogden City Cemetery. Send condolences to the family at <www. lindquistmortuary.com> Talia Greer and Derek Jensen were married June 2 in the Salt Lake Temple of Eleanor, age 92, was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day born in Keene, New Saints. To celebrate, a reception was held Hampshire on January 18, that evening at Cobble Creek in Ogden. 1919, and passed away Talia is the daughter of Gregg and Amy in Eden, Utah on June 1, Greer of Eden. She graduated from Weber 2011. High School and attends Weber State. Her parents were Harry G. and Mildred Derek is the son of Bruce and Laurie Jensen of North Ogden. He also graduated Eleanor Johnson (Bradbury) Price. She married Carl R. Johnson on January from Weber High School and attends Weber 27, 1940. After Carl died in 1980, she moved State. They will live in Ogden and finish up to Bountiful, Utah, and later to Eden, Utah to spend a few years near many of her family school together. Pictured left are Talia and Derek Jensen. Obituaries Beth M. Wood Beth Margaret Neilson Wood, 83, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011. She was born May 16, 1928 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Hogge Neilson. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Beth married Duane John in 1948. They had three children, Thomas, A. Fred, and Annette. They were later divorced. In 1967 she married Kay L. Wood, and together they lived in Huntsville where they ran the Lady Luck Store. Beth loved her years with Kay and living in Huntsville. She was a great cook and loved to cook for family and friends. She was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed teaching her grandkids to fish. In her later years, she enjoyed feeding and watching birds. We will all miss “Grandma.” Beth is survived by two sons, Tom and Fred Harold D. Powell Never was a man more loved by so many who were honored to be part of his life. Harold Dwane Powell died peacefully Monday, May 9, 2011 surrounded by his family at his home in Ogden. Harold was born Harold Powell March 12, 1934 in Richfield, Idaho to Fredrick W. and Ella Sweat Powell. His father died when he was two years old. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Harper Buel, along with his sister CoRene Buel Keith. Harold graduated from Dietrich High School and attended Idaho State College before enlisting with the U.S. Army on February 17, 1954. Following his discharge from the service on February 16, 1956, he returned to college before ultimately deciding on Law Enforcement. Harold retired from the Ogden Police Department following 23 and a half years of service. He then worked at Defense Depot Ogden retiring after eight years due to health problems. He married Billie Muir Bennett on May 31, 1963 in Reno, Nevada. With his marriage to Billie, he became an instant father to Cliff (deceased) and Claudean Bennett. What a wonderful father he was and from there, a wonderful grandfather to Shaun John, both of Ogden; grandchildren Dustin, Dereck, Jennifer, Kelly, and Eric; and seven great-grandchildren. Beth’s special nieces, Connie and Carolyn and special grandchild Cori, along with her brother, Bob (Leah) Neilson of Roy, also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband Kay in 1979; daughter Annette in 1961; brothers, Floyd, Ken, Marv, Les, Dick, and Milt; and sisters, Lorene, Isabelle, Janet, and Donna. The family wishes to thank the staff of Crestwood Care Center for the loving care provided to Beth since residing there from 2007 until her death. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 1 at the Huntsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Harold was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a lifetime member of the Elks and the International Footprinters Association. Surviving are his wife, Billie; daughter Claudean Bennett; former daughter-in-law Ginger (Steve) Frongner; grandsons Shaun (Jennifer) Frongner, Kyle (Kathy) Frongner; great-grandsons Nyle, Alex, Gabe, and Jaron; and great-granddaughters Mikaela, Abby, and Cambria Frongner, all of Utah. Also surviving Harold is his sister CoRene Keith, Baldwin, KS; and his brothers and sisters-in-law who loved him dearly along with nieces, nephews and so many special friends. We will all miss you. Preceding Harold in death were his son Cliff Bennett, his father, mother and stepfather, and many others who he loved so much. Phyllis was born January 19, 1922 in Taber, Alberta, Canada; married George Phyllis Johnson L Johnson on April 28, 1941 in Wallace, ID; lived in Coeur D’ Alene, ID, Seattle, WA, and later moved to Ogden, Utah. She is survived by five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Lennis McCleod, Coeur D’ Alene, ID, and Betty Schallock, El Cajon, CA.; four daughters, Darla Faulhaber, Liberty, MO, Denise Green, Huntsville, UT., Geri Johnson, Wash. D.C., and Jill Kienast, Bangkok, Thailand and Providence, UT; and her dearest friend, Belinda Louis Edwin Wiseman Louis Wiseman Ed wants to thank you. To both “family and friends and people who don’t even know me.” I have been “blessed.” I am so “fortunate” for feeling this kind of “love.” I am truly “overwhelmed.” I find it “humbling” to feel the grace of God. It “overcomes me to feel Wes Brunker Kuna, ID - Wesley Robinson Brunker, 63, died Sunday June 5, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. He was born December 20, 1947 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Julian and Edith Brunker. He married Nanci Olsen Wes Brunker August 22, 1969 in Huntsville, Utah. They were later divorced. Wes grew up in Huntsville, Utah and later lived in Bondurant, Wyoming; and most recently in Kuna, Idaho. He graduated from Weber High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He loved fishing and hunting. He also loved his work on ranches and as a skilled heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion deserving” of this. “I am at peace. What a wonderful way to die—unafraid, strong, willing. Not unlike Ed at all. He wants to “give it back.” He feels that “there is something I am supposed to do.” He asks, “Is this enough?” Can others learn from him? His feelings are so real and yet most of us don’t want to go there. We go into death— unexplored. He sees the light and is “clear about his path.” He is ok. A memorial was held Tuesday, June 7 at the Ogden Family Christian Center in Huntsville, Utah. Post #129. He was proud to serve on the color guard for Memorial Day services and was always willing to help anyone in need. Wes is survived by his daughters Heidi Wallace and Michelle (Dusty) Rasmussen; his mother Edith Brunker; sisters Lynette Summers and Julie (Greg) Roylance; brothers Troy (Elizabeth) Brunker and Tracy Brunker; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Wes had many wonderful and caring friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, his son Orin Brunker, and brother Lance Brunker.
