October 24: Ogden Nature Center celebrates International Climate Change Awareness Day, noon- 3:30 p.m. All ages welcome. Cost, time & hard work! In observation & support of the international 350.org <http://350.org/> movement to reduce the carbon in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million (the number leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide), come spend 3.50 hours learning and working to make a positive effect on climate change. Bring your gloves, shovels, sunscreen, & water bottles and do battle against invasive weed species at the Ogden Nature Center. Plants are the only organisms on the planet that remove carbon from the atmosphere, and plants function best within a healthy, native plant community. Many areas of the Ogden Nature Center are planted with new trees, shrubs, & native forbs. You can help us ensure their success by removing the invasive weeds that threaten them.
