Show The Ogden Valley news Page 14 Volume XIV Issue XV October 15, 2007 Ballet West 2 Comes to Valley Elementary Montana Wayment, By Sixth Grade Student Reporter, On September 30, Ballet West 2 came to Valley Elementary School. It was cool to see the ballerinas do so many amazing things. We are so lucky that they wanted to come to our school. It was a very rare treat. It was also cool that men do ballet. What if no men did ballet? Think of all of the tricks that women need men to help them perform. Ballerinas spend a lot of time on everything they do. I think we all could learn something from that kind of dedication. Thanks for the awesome show Ballet West. The ninth grader challenged fellow students to purchase at least 150 books from the Snowcrest Book Fair hosted by PTO Book Fair chairs Natalie Gambles and Lisa Pack. He promised the students that if they reached this goal, he would submit to being suspended during first and second lunch. It took 180 yards of the hefty, sticky material to keep the 125 pound Huntsville youth dangling from the wall; a small price to pay to for the more than $300 raised during the three day fundraising event. The money will be used to purchase new books for the school’s library. Being preoccupied—a little hung up and his hands tied—McColley’s cohorts took turns feeding him his school lunch. With his hunger pains subdued, the only thing he had left to complain about . . . the tape that kept ripping out leg hairs, and an incessantly itchy nose! In addition to the book fair, the three day event included a number of activities for the students, including jump rope and pushup competitions. Pushup winners included Matt Delight with a total of 84, and Colton Pack with a total of 62. Jump rope winners included top winners Matt Delight with 210 jumps, Ashley Smith with 183, and Colton Pack with 108. Julian Knapp won the M&Ms in a Jar counting contest.
