Groberg of Farr West celebrated their 60th wedding anniversarywith an open house hosted by their children on July 2 at Wolf Creek Resort in Eden. They were married July 2, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple Born in Farr West, a son of Charles A. and Martha H. Groberg, he is a graduate of Weber High School. He served in the U.S Army during World War II, Army 6th Infantry Division in the South Pacific and the Army occupation of Korea. He is a retired State Farm Insurance agent with more than 41 years of service. Born in Huntsville, a daughter of J. Leonard and Sarah Ethel Grow, she graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State College. She has been a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers since 1949 and a member of the same bowling league for 38 years. They are active in the LDS Church and have held various positions. Their interests include traveling, bowling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and soap operas. They belong to the Farr Nest Social Club and have been members for 57 Their children are L. Elaine Miller, Dennis C. and Chris Groberg, Connie R. and Alan Hepford, Sheron and Danny Leyba, Debra and Gary Buxton, and Douglas P. Groberg. They have 25 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. Obituaries Keith Anderson MALAD CITY, Idaho - Keith Anderson, 71, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Monday, June 27, 2005 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications following a short illness. Dad was born December 13, 1933 in Wales, Utah, the son of Peter mat and LaFonda King Anderson. Dad grew up in Wales and attended school in Moroni."He also attended Snow College in Ephraim where he was a member of the basketball team. Obituaries He married his best friend and the love of his life, Arlene Potter, on July 18, 1958. Dad and Mom lived in Wales, Ephraim, and Pleasant View before moving to Malad City, Idaho. Keith served with the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Eliason, Alaska. Dad and Mom owned and operated Weber Livestock Auction in Ogden from 1972 to 1997. They sold the business and retired to Malad in the summer and Phoenix, Arizona in the winter where they trained and raced their horses at Turf Paradise. Dad enjoyed traveling, buying and selling cattle, racing horses, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of his children and grandchildren in sports, rodeos and horse racing. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be missed by all. We cherished the time we had with him. He will live in our hearts forever. Dad is survived by his five children, Jerry (Teddy) Anderson, Plain City; Connie (Bart) Hone and Dale Anderson, both of Phoenix, AZ; Kaylene (Jeff) Kirkpatrick, Hesperia, CA; Debbie (Doug) Harbertson, Plain City; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister and one brothr, Gwen McGarry, Ephraim, UT; LaGrande (Mildred) Anderson, San Jose, CA; and Arlene’s sister, Diane, and two brothers, Don and Merrill and his loving friend, Vonna Saxton, Smithfield, UT. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Arlene Potter Anderson, his mother and father, three brother-in-laws, Rawlin Jacobson, Wendell McGarry, and Dean Potter. ineral services were held at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary. Barker, 87, died at home after an extended illness on June 30, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born September 3, 1917 to goodly parents, Clarence Marcellus and Myrtle Ririe Barker. He served an L.D.S. Mission in Hawaii at the time Pearl Harbor was bombed. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps (Air Force) as a ball turret gunner on the B-17 flying fortress. Marvin married Maurine Strong Stanley for time and all eternity on August 25, 1949 in the SLC Temple. They had four children. He worked on the family farm and owned and operated Quality Dairy in North Ogden with his brother Verle for 45 years. Marvin worked and retired from the Weber School District. After 35 happy years of marriage, Maurine passed away July 22, 1985 and he took over her contract operating the old North Ogden Post Office. He married Ramona Poulson Cook on July 23, 1994 in North Ogden and embraced her family. Marvin loved to ride four-wheelers, travel, watch sports and attend grandchildren’s activities. His work ethic was strong. He was still hauling hay in his 80’s and helping others with his tractor work. Marvin was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and diligently served in many callings and positions, including an Inner-City Ogden Mission in his later years. His testimony of the gospel was sure and complete. urviving are his wife Ramona of North Ogden; his and Maurine’s children, Virginia Stanley Burwell (Clif), Morgan, UT; Bruce C. Barker, Key Largo, FL; Brent Marvin Barker (Linda), Mukilteo, WA and Julie Farr (Dennis) North Ogden, UT; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis VanWagenen, Provo, UT and Elaine Lowder, Walnut Creek, CA. Marvin also leaves behind Ramona’s five children, Cathy Baldwin (Parley), Pleasant View, UT; Cindy Bronson (Tracy), North Ogden, UT; Carl (Lynette) Cook, Aukland, New Zealand; Greg (Shauna) Cook, Hooper, UT; Melinda (Dan) Kerns, North Ogden, UT; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maurine; his parents; brothers Wayne, Verle and James, and sisters, Jetta, Lorene and Melba. Funeral services were held on July 6, 2005 at the North Ogden 6th Ward Chapel with Bishop Dennis Farr conducting. Interment in the Barker family plot, Ben a Cemetery, North Ogden. Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com Verna ee Brunker OGD! - Verna Kidman Brunker, 76, passed rs Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born July 14, 1928 in Garland, Utah, to John A. and Elsie Harris Kidman. Verna attended high school in Ogden and lived here the remainder of her life. On June 19, 1948, Verna married Rex Brunker in Pleasant View. Together they enjoyed traveling and working with photography, wedding pictures were their specialty. Rex passed away June 24, 2000. She was employed at Smith’s Food King for over 33 years. Her cats and flowers brought much joy into her life. She was talented with a needle and thread and crocheting was her love. Family and friends were blessed with gifts from her hands. nealogy, reading and participating with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers were activities she enjoyed. Verna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Vera Kidman Scoville, and brother, Earl Kidman.
