Show Volume XI Issue XII THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 3 April 1, 2005 State Road Improvements Underway Letters to the Editor Funds Being Solicited By Ogden Canyon Family As some of you may know, Jim Anglesey has been fighting Leukemia the past two years. We thank you for any and all gifts you may have given in the past year and at his Benefit Concert last April. Please note that payments to Circle of Friends are a tax deductible donation. Jim has had a relapse and was in the hospital fighting again this past Christmas. As hard as it was, a new treatment has achieved remission once again. This time he must take advantage of this remission window to receive a bone marrow transplant—the only cure for his disease. This specialized operation is very costl One would think there are enough programs in America to cover the cost of a procedure to save someone’s life, but there isn’t for Jim. And since there isn’t enough time to lobby, appeal decisions, or keep asking questions, our family has chosen to move forward and raise the needed funds. We have to work fast because it could be just a matter of weeks before the Leukemia comes back for the third time. If this happens, a transplant is no longer an option and Jim will die within weeks. must raise the entire initial amount of $100,000 in order for the transplant team to move forward. We are asking you to help by raising only $250 in whatever way you can. ($10 each from neighbors, family, coworkers, church friends, bake sales, etc. can quickly raise this small amount.) If 500 of our family, friends, and fans can raise $250, we will have enough to begin the transplant procedure. Please join the Circle of Friends 500 Club to save Jim! There isn’t enough time to organize large fundraising events which generally need three to four months of planning and publicity. But el is your chance to help save a life. If you have received this, or know aise who could possibly help, you could make a difference. Jim is a wonderful soul, a great musician and he is young. We’re not trying to just improve the quality of life; we are trying to save a life! Jim’s disability insurance requires for him to wait another year before covering this procedure. Unfortunately, Jim won’t live that long without a transplant. No other insurance is available to him so we, the family and friends of Jim Anglesey, are pursuing every possible resource to collect the needed funding. Our target date for raising these funds is Jim’s birthday: April 18. Anything you can donate will be deeply appreciated no matter the mount. To collect donated funds for Jim’s medical needs, a trust account has been established at Bank One under the name of Circle of Friends.
