The Eden Planning Committee wants you to be informed about planning and zoning items being considered by Weber County. The Committee has established an e-mail ID that will provide the public with information. For example, you can see the County Planning Commission agendas as soon as they are available, get pointers to web sites, get editorial analysis of agenda items, and send in your questions to be considered by the Committee. The Committee wants to provide information in time for you to respond and participate in the decision making process. The first step is e-mail. The ultimate goal, depending on interest, is a website through which you can receive all the information available to the planning commissioners such as maps, letters from the engineer, fire district, health department, etc. Through the website you can icipate without having to attend public meetings held at inconvenient times. Proposit ion | was approved by a narrow margin of 911 ballots. The passage of the proposition allows for the collection by the county of one cent on every ten dollars spent by consumers. Monies generated by the tax are then earmarked to benefit recreation, arts, museums, and parks within the coun Expected revenue from the ra.m.p. tax is Forest Plan Appeal Decision Released —AlIll appeals denied After two years of weighing comments and appeals by the general public and special interest groups such as snowmobilers and environmentalists, a decision released last week by Forest Service Chief Dale Bosworth affirmed a decision on the Revised Forest Land and Resource Management Plan for the WasatchCache National Forest that was made in March of 2003. All appeals from the formal appeals process, that has taken two years, were denied. However, the appeal decision included instructions in the Timber Resource, and Fish and Wildlife Resources topics to ensure that the Plan will be in full compliance with the National Forest Management Act and corresponding Forest Service policy. FOREST PLAN cont. on page 13 EPA Issues Report Card on Easter Fun in the Valley Legacy Parkway Project On the final day of the public comment period for e Legacy Parkway Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS), the federal agency tasked with protecting the nation’s environment issued one of its highest possible ratings to the Legacy Parkway project. In a March 17 letter to the Federal Highway Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, EPA Regional Administrator RobertE. F Duanran was born in Kunming, Yunnan, People’s Republic of China. He began studying the art of Chinese Calligraphy with his father at the age of four, and his study has continued for the last forty years.
