Smith -- As the manager of Trout Laundry, one of my responsibilities was to be an active member of the Coalville Business Association. While attending the meetings, my interest in the city broadened, and I became Secretary of the association. I found I greatly enjoyed being involved with planning lor the towns activities, which we sponsored. I am currently a member of the Coalville Planning Commission which has allowed me the opportunity to get involved w ith issues facing the community and the city council. I have also been attending the monthly city council meetings as a concerned citizen. As Coalville continues to grow, it is important for residents to speak their opinion and be heard and offer their expertise in areas of concern. I am eager to get involved with doing things that must be done to make this city what we all know it can he great.! I would really appreciate your vote on November 2nd. A person can't really complain if they don't do their part w hen it comes to town issues. My number one concern is controlling grow th while maintaining the current lifestyle. I have been an attorney for 20 years and President of the Jeremy Ranch Homeowners Association for 4 years. DelKav Hatch Oakley city has seen changes in moving away from a country town to a small city development. A Development code has been implemented for the management of the town and the water system, although we do have some problems w ilh the sewer system that need to be addressed. Hoggan - I'm running for City Council because I believe that the Oakley citizens need to have a voice in the way the City run. I realize growth is inevitable, but we need to manage that grow th so that our current infrastructure can handle the growth and to ensure that Oakley remains a great place to live with a small town atmosphere. Robert Johnson - I am seeking because I have enjoyed being a part of the council and am willing to serve another term in office. The growth issue is costing us a lot of money. It has been a difficult time. I feel my 4 years of experience on the council would help me in making decisions for the city. Susan S. Johnson -- I am not really sure just why I chose to just told me to put my name on the ballot. I am not against growth, cause I moved here. It just needs to be regulated. Woolstenhulme-- 1 am running because I have had several residents encourage me to do so. I believe our most pressing issue is growth, and we need to keep on top of it. The past 10-1- 2 years has seen a lot of changes but with our new code I believe we are keeping on top of things, and we arc able to act and not react. I am and believe not that although we need to respect property ownership, we need to protect the town. Oakley has a lot of potential. . Our town has a great celebration each year with our annual 4th of July events, and it keeps getting better due to (he great volunteer efforts of town residents. It provides a good share of our budget and keeps us from having to raise taxes. gold mine", that is why it is important that the interest of all Kamas residents be represented by someone who understand the community and the lifestyle the residents want. I feel I have represented the interest of Kamas and would like to continue working as a member of the city council. Emmett McNeil-- 1 have lived in Kamas all my life, and chose to run for city council because I felt the town needed guidance. W'e need to be responsible and take better care in development projects. I want to keep the rural way of life we have in Kamas. There has been too much irresponsible growth. I know we have to have growth but it needs to be controlled so that those who live Kamas are three vacant seats and six candidates. Lewis Marchant- - I have had here don't pay the price for it through taxes, and by losing the quality of life. Our community is small. Although we can't avoid growth we shouldn't allow others to take advantage of our city and considerable leadership experience. I love Kamas City and the people here and want the best for all of us. I have been active in civic affairs, and am currently on the City Planning and Zoning Commission and have attended most of the City Council meetings in the past few years so I know what has been happening and feel I can step into the position prepared. My greatest concern for the future of Kamas is to have proper, consistent growth and then just walkaway. Juhn Angell I plan on living in Kamas for a long time. I would like to maintain the quality of life that we have enjoyed here. I have a degree in civil engineering and I work with the county, giving me an advantage of being involved. I have been happy to work many hours city council. I have lived in Francis all of my married life and raised my doing community service. 1 have been on former city councils and have done my best to represent the people and their wants. 1 know that sometimes wants and actual happenings don't come to fruition. Many times there is a need for a compromise. One problem I see is developers, who have no interest in the community. They only want to sec how much money they can make. The problem with this is (hey make their money and leave, and the problems they created then become those of the city. I taught school for-3years and know the youth of the area are the solution to the good way of life. The major problem is they can not involved in what takes places in the community. I believe we need to get control of growth and channel it and not let it gel out of control. We do have a development plan in place that was passed by the board and we need to follow it. We don't ced to prohibit growth, but control it with good planning. Rae Prescott I wanted to stay on the council to finish out some issues such as the watertank. I formerly served on the planning board and hoard of adjustment fix' the town and been on the city council a little more than a year. For examples, some businesses may want to build a large brick wall, but they dont realize they are building a billboard for the kids to do their graffiti. So I would like to suggest using a smooth cement wall or using a textured material or landscaping to create a buffer zone. I would like to say that there are a lot of things that can be done to a building before it is built that can be done to reduce the opportunity for crime.
