With clear, hot weather, 3.1 miles of hills made for a great run. Tooele, North Summit, and Park at Treasure City participated Mountain Middle School. Girls Varsity; Mindy Hilton, 26:00.67, fifth place; Valerie Snyder, 27:58.55, eighth place; Kristen Snyder, 28:08.41, 11th place; Lisa 31:23.95, 17th place out Ferry, of 18 runners Boys Varsity: Steven Dent, 21:16.93, seventh place; Chase 22:26.55, 17th place; Lorensen, Zack Mortensen, 25:37.00, 34th Zach Collins, 27:08.00, place; 38th place out of 39 runners The Braves had a tough run last Saturday with three miles of pure grass and sandy hills at the Cottonwood complex in Salt Lake City. The teams participating were la-3- a from across the state. The Braves couldn't run varsity because they didn't have enough people for a full team. Here are the stats of the meet. Many parents put a lot of effort winking with their children to .help provide more valuable lessons about commerce. Many of the teachers at North Summit Elementary School have reported a new level of understanding about money, community, and Mini-Ma- ll purchasing. Comments from the parents included awareness of jkw terms, ideas and a work ethic that wa : new for their children. Vernon wasn't prepared for what the Lady Braves had in store for them. The Braves beat Mt. Vernon in two games with the scores of 15-- 0 and 15-After this game, the Braves were pumped up and ready for any team that they came in contact with. Each team North Summit played had fear in their eyes, and the Braves hKik that to their advantage beating Wendover and Whitehorse. After heating these teams, the Braves were ranked fourth and were ready to fight for first. The Braves pulled together playing hard and having good communication. Their awesome teamwork gave them an edge over Tintic and Wendover; this edge resulted in two wins for North Summit. The next team for the Lady Braves was Tahiona, (he one team they had lost 4. The North Summit Booster Gub to be selling raffle tickets for an NFL Jacksonville Jaguars Football, which has been signed by the majority of the Jaguars lineup. The name of the lucky person will be announced at the last home game for North Summit against Grantsville on Oct 22 during halfis excited time. Cost for the raffle tickets will be $1. Proceeds raised will go to the Booster Gub who gives support to the school students and also to the Youth Recreation Program. The later was a request from Number 52, Brant Boyer, who plays for the Jaguars, and who was instrumental in giving North Summit this great gift. The Booster Gub would like to thank Brant and the Boyer family for their efforts for such a worthwhile cause. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the games. When the North Summit FFA Chapter arrived Miss Thalman, the North Summit Ag. teacher and FFA advisor, gave them a worksheet to Fill out. This worksheet required the members to find and participate in certain exhibits. The students learned a lot about animals and their different breeds.
