Each of the finalists split up into two groups and each group had to put together a skit. The first group consisted of Curtis McEntire, Megan DeGering, Ben Aplanalp, Tahnie Moon. Joey Edmunds. Stephanie Bigelow, Jarin Leavitt and Brittany Padfield. Their skit was based on the "Newly Wed Game". The second group consisted of Liesel Pedersen, Melanie Goates, Stephanie Cummings. Megan Olsen, Cody Howick, Rhett Phillips, Ben Lee and Ethan Atkinson. Their skit was based on "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Finally on Friday, we had the Alumni Assembly. The Alumni did a very fine job based on the movie "Austin Powers". In the skit Austin Powers was trying to save the Wildcat mojo from Dr. Evil. Of course Austin won. just like the Wildcats. Seratfsh Fever Student Writer: Becky Dees The Class (d 2000 seems to have a point to prove. South Summit High Schixil is full uf students who are working harder than ever from academics to spurts. We have an school and with that, we have what we believe to be the fixu-ba- ll team of the millennium! Last Friday night, the Wildcat Football Team faced the North Summit for Braves our Homecoming game. The green team was pumped and ready to play, especially after our pep rally and the inspiring paintings form the Braves. By 7 p.m., the bleachers held only a small portion of our large crowd. The game started olf great. The Wildcats put the ball in the end zone twice during the first quarter thanks to Senior Jarin Leavitt and Junior Brody Lewis. The green dominated the first quarter while holding the Braves from scoring, leaving the first quarter score 140 for the Cat. unbe-lievab- le As the second quarter started, the cheerleaders got the crowd motivated. Despite the interception by Dal Holman and his great run. the Cats went scoreless in the second quarter. The Braves put a score on the score-boar- d just before the first half ended leaving us with a halftime score of 1407, still in favor of the Wildcats. the Nevertheless, outraged Wildcats came back with some major attitude. Jarin Ixavitt added yet another touchdown to the score at the beginning of the third. Senior Ethan Atkinson ran the ball and grabbed a touchdown from the North Summit team with a dive into the end zone. Before ending the third quarter the Wildcats wanted to add a few more points on the Nurd with one last score from Gary Richins. With that the Wildcats led 3407 putting an end to the third quarter. Going into the fourth and final quarter the Cats front line blocked hard letting the Braves feel the Wildcat Power! Dustin Pyper stole an interception from the Braves that he ran to the end zone. Malt Jackson and Karl Tresner Nxh helped the team move the ball as they added to the outstanding Wildcat play. Travis Miller found himself some playing time as quarterback at the end of the game as the coaches let the Juniors play The final score was 4407 for the Mighty Wildcats. Point Proven! Curtis McEntire had a perfect field goal kicking record against the Braves. Our Allstar. Joey Edmunds threw fix 405 yards and 5 touch-don passes. The South Summit Wildcat Coaches were happy the game. The contestants On Thursday. Sept. 23. South Summit High School had their annual field day. All four of the grades participated in this activity. They had everything from relay races to i pudding wrestling. The activities started with the foodeating contest. The Seniors had Megan Olsen and Ethan Atkinson as their team. Megan was the very first one done out of the guys and the girls. Ethan came in second. Not far behind were the Juniors with Buckner Brett Nichole and Maichant. Third place went to the Sophomores with Tiffany Ure and Justin Padfield. Last place was awarded to the Freshman Missy and Andy Rider. Then came the guzzling contest. The Senior class won, with Trevor Rezac and Mayon Sargent. Trevor showed an amazing and unique technique of holding the bottle with his teeth while opening the next bottle. The sophomore class came in second with Tyree Lazenby and Sheena Griffin. The Juniors took third place with Jon Jorgenson and Jessica Eason. Once again the Freshman came in last with Jason Foust and Jan Schuman. The 'third event was a difficult re had to jump two hurdles, crawl under a fence, jump another hurdle, go under an electric spider web. jump another hurdle, go through tires, jump one more hurdle, go through some more tires, get over the goal post, jump the chain fence and cross the finish line, all without breaking an egg in their mouth. The seniors Holly Butler and Curtis Cox came out on top. The Juniors had Julie Ann Lake and Wes Pearce in second place. By far the highlight of the day when was sophomore Tyler Galovich lost his shorts twice throughout the race. He didn't let this slow him down. By his side was Ferrari Westmoreland and they came in third. Last place were the freshman Jamie Nilsumia and Alan I ott. Then we had the all mighty pushup contest. Of course, the Seniors with Danielle Vernon and Peter Sorenson won the match. The juniors had Heidi Moon and Matt Glade come in second. The sophomores had Shyrell Makin and Ben , Leavitt in third place. The freshman had Brittany Allred and Brandon Marchant. The sophomores won the grenade toss. The grenades were actually water balkxins thrown at the officers. They were lucky the contestants had such bad aim. The senior girls Lindsey Crystal and Stephanie Cummings, took first place. They had to wrestle the freshman girls Jjn Schumann and Lauren Bradley. Then the juniors came in third with Natalie Marchant and Ashley Simpson against the sophomores Aubrey Jeffs and Brandy Taylor. Overall, the Seniixs came out on top with the juniors and aophomores and freshman close behind. The gym was decorated and filled with fans as this was the Ladycat's Homecoming game. The Freshman lead exit with a victory, taking exit the Lions in just two games. Triiney France made some great serves fix the Freshman. Next, the JV played. They also overtook Rowland Hall in only two games. Jade Atkinson and Tasia Woolstenhulme Nxh had some gixxi blocks. The Varsity played an awesome game against the Winged Lions. The Lodycats look out RIISM in two games. Becky Dees had an incredible serving game and Stephanie Cummings had some unbelievable digs. The lodycats only let the Lions score a total of nine points, the scores were 154 and 155. The lodycats have had a great season, so far they are undefeated.
