She recently graduated from South Summit where she participated, in the Russian Gub, Interact Qdb, and the swim team. Eden wu the Business and Marketing sterling scholar. Senior Gau Secretary, and Homecoming Queen, among other things. Eden enjoys playing the violin, and hopes to be a member of a symphony one day so that she can travel and share her talents with others. She plans to attend BYU in the fall. Megan Foust, 18, is the daughter of Dee and Debbie Foust, of Marion. She wu an honor roll student, and enjoyed tutoring elementary students while sttending South Summit Megan wu on the drill, team for three years snd a cheerleader for one year. She enjoyed being a crusader for the March of Dimes and Pennies by the Inch, and hu made and donated Compoadcat Nine talented young ladies have chosen to compete for the title of Miu Kamas VUIey. The scholaiship pageant will be held June 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the South Summit High School auditorium. The ladies win be judged in four areas; personal interview, swimsuit, talent, and evening wear. The competition wiU begin for tLc contestants at 1:30 p.m. with the personal interview and swim suit portion of the coolest. Family, friends, and other members of the community are invited to attend and view the rest of the contest at an evening filled with talent and beauty beginning at 7 JO p.m. ; The theme for the contest is Through the Past, We Find our Future. Each contestant was assigned an era and wu asked to research the past of Kamas Vriley, dat-iq- g back to 1900. Thfcy will share facts from the results of their search with the audience. Audience members can expect to be entertained, and enlightened with some history of the Kamas VUIey. : This will be the last crowning of Miss Kamas VUIey in this century. The pageant has been a part of the community for over 33 years. Plan to attend the festivities and support these beautiful young women in their quest for the title. It is sure to be an evening of beauty and intrigue. Good hick to the nine beautiful contestants. Your talents and achievements speak well of you and all of the Kamas VUIey. . Lad Dawn Atkinson, 17, is the daughter of Rod and Lori Atkinson, of Kamas. She attends South Summit High School where she has been an honor student since sixth quilts to Primary Guldrens Hospital Megan plans to attend Salt . grade. 7, 10 Lad his been active on the drill team for four years and wu selected to the All Region Drill Team. She wu also chosen to partidpste in Girls State this summer. She is sandwiched between two older brothers and two younger brothers, "stuck right in the middle. Lad plans to attend a cosmetology school in the future. ' Lake Community College and pursue a degree in Surgical Technology. Melanie Coates, 16, the daughter of David and Patsy Goates, lives in Woodland. She attends South Summit High where she is on the high honor roll and President of the Interact Gub. Melanie is also a member of the National Honor Society and has conducted the Utah Symphony. She is the eighth of thirteen children. Melanie's future plans include attending a 4 year university and majoring in Social Work. Brittany Joyce Padfield 17, is the daughter of Gary and Tawna Padfield! They live in Kamas. Brittany is on the high honor roll at South Summit. She hu been involved in a number of activities, including the Future Busineu Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Interact Gub. Brittany is also a member of the National I Honor Society. Brittany's future plans are to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. Megan Page, 1 7, is the daughter of Kevin and Pam Page, of Kamas. Megan hu been on the National Honors Society and on the honor roll every semester. She plays the piano, and hu a strong interest in sign language. She uys she is an extrovert and enjoys spending time with her family. Mayon has been a power tumbler with the Hcber Handspringcrs for 3 years. She participated on the basketball team at South Summit for 3 years and wu invited to and attended the New Zealand Basketball Gassic. She is on the high honor roll and a member of the National Honor Society. Mayon is also involved in the Interact Gub and FBLA. She plans to majo in psychology or architecture when she attends college in the future. Rachel Wagstaff, 17, lives in Kamu with her parents, Karl and Debbie Wagstaff. She is a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. She hu been on the high honor roll throughout high school and received the President's Education Award. She was the English Sterling Scholar and is the Literary Maguine Editor at SSIIS. She hu been a member of Tapestry (advanced choir) for three yean.
