Show Friday, October 30, 1992 LDS Church News We would like to congratulate Patti Hawkins on her recent baptism into the church. Patti has lived in our community for about two or three years. She is from New Jersey originally. She may be Ear from her native home, but we hope die enjoys her new home with us. Sunday, Oct. 23, Kamas Valley Stake held a meeting to introduce nonmembers in the community to some of the organizations in the church. The evening started with the prelude by Larry Farr with President Thomas Brown, the Stake Mission President, conducting. After the welcome, an opening song, "Because I Have Much" was sung. The opening prayer was given by Byron Rockhill, Mission leader of the Rhodes Valley Ward. Then a film entitled "On The Way Home" was shown. It was a very touching film that showed some of the beliefs of the church. Baptism by immersion, eternal families, and how the gospel can change lives and attitudes. And possibly the most important: family unity. After the film, President Brown talked a little about the film. He then bore his testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Saints. He then Christ of Latter-da-y invited everyone to visit the different displays. The closing song was "How Great Thou Art" conducted by Bessie Russell. Just when you have made all those important notes and artistic drawings on your phone books, the phone company decides to send you brand new ones. And it's not that you needed them, the old one seemed to work just fine. So, now you're left with two or three used phone books to get rid of, right? That's a great deal of paper to just go to waste. But wait, it doesn't haveto! Thanks to the efforts of the Park City Recycling Crater, Used phone books are now being collected for recycling. Since last, April, there has been a separate bin at the recycling center for used phone bode collection. The bin was added when the Park City Recycling Association (PCRA) learned that a local company called Ready Therm had been using used phone books and other used paper products to manufacture various types of building insulation. After speaking with. Ready Therm management, the PCRA was told that the company was having a difficult time locating suppliers bf the used paper products needed to manufacture the insulation. The PCRA decided to assist1 Ready Therm and added the used phone book bin at the recycling' ( 336-330- 336-233- -- ... a Summit County - SLC services up youth li sj- u- - & 2-l- c) r Eeeuiar sr. at, tiuki h-1- 1) Located on tietoer Main Street Captain Daily: 3:13 & Ron 7:13 Saturday Mat 3:13 Discount tickets available at Days Camera Par- per person efiar wjc company 0.
