He received many awards for his service, including many civic club awards, an outstanding service award from the Ogden Rotary Club in 1972. A distinguished service award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents in 1967,' outstanding service award from the Ogden Area Beef Feeders Assn. He helped organize the Hooper and Plain City Improvement Councils and the Hooper Water Improvement District. He was honored by the National for Halsten Breeders Assn, ' Weber also service; outstanding County Farm Bureau awarded him a Distinguished Service Award in 1977. He was a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. For many years he served on the Plain City Dairy Days and Hooper Tomato Days celebration. For three years he was Farm Bureau President in Summit County. He earned a bachelor and masters degree at Utah State University where he was on staff and worked on a doctorate at . . . Fay Wilde Boyer Fay Wilde Boyer, 54, of 5050. Ben Lomond, died Friday, Dec. 7, ' 1974 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ofjden. born Oct. 13, 1925 in. Coalville to Joseph H. and Lois Wilde Boyer. Married Fern Jones May 28, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.' a He was a USU Extension Agent for many years. He had served as an agricultural agent for Weber County from 1954 to 1972 when he M Colorado State University. At the ' time of his retirement he was aa associate professor at Utah State. He was a member of the Ogden LDS 60th Ward, where he was a high priest. He served for 7 years as a member of the Upton Ward Bishopric, 3 years in the elder's quorum presidency, a scout merit badge counselor and in many teaching capacities. He was also a ' temple worker and assistant to the Ogden Temple President. . He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps during WWII. Surviving are his widow of Ogden; 5 sons Dee F. Boyer, Gerald G., Gregory J., Stephen W., and Brent W. Boyer, all of Ogden; two grandchildren; Also , . surviving are a sister. and 3 brothers, Mrs. Woodrow (Leah) Nielsen, Vern Boyer, William' Boyer and Lyle Boyer, all oT. Coalville. Funeral services were held Dec. II, 1979 at Lindquist and Sons in with Bishop Wallace Ogden Leatham officiating.
