GEORGE — In moves designed to improve its local presence, KUSG television has added Business Bonanza and will broadcast several area football games. KUSG is known as Utah's Retro Television Network. Todd Blickenstaff, station manager, said Business Bonanza will feature Tamara Lee, a journalist familiar with the area. He said the station will broadcast a dozen local football games over the next several weeks. Five Dixie State College games are on the schedule ton County highschools Lee in Region 9 featured at least once. “We have partnered with the Center for Media Innovation at Dixie State? Blickenstaff said. “This is an exciting partnership for us. These games will add additional value to our program lineup: KUSG,* which is seen on 12 over the air and on channel 20 on St. George cable, partners with KUTV, channel 2 in Salt Lake City, to provide news drop-ins several times a day. Business Bonanza will launch on Sept. 8 and will air 20 times a week. “It will provide a look inside local businesses, Blickenstaff said. “A lot of businesses and products need more than 30 seconds. We will provide that? Lee is familiar to Southern Utah viewers. A graduate of Southern Utah University with a communications major and political science minor, she was managing editor for KCSG for three and a half years before moving to Las Vegas. It’s sucha fast-paced city, but our family didn't like it so we moved back to St. George’ She will now be host and producer of Business Bonanza. She described it as a 30-minute show that will feature several different businesses each month. “It will give them a chance to highlight what they do? she said. “It will be statewide so it will showcase that St. George is a prime place to do business. It’s nothing fancy, just a chance to show off what they're all about? Lee said the show will air at noon, 3 p.m. and 1] p.m. Monday through Friday, at noon and 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and also at 8 a.m. on Sundays. Lee said. “It’s just a matter of time before it will happen. We have one news station here, but I think it’s healthy to bring in more. I think RTN is moving in that direction’ Blickenstaff added, “this is a program we've been working on the last two months.
