Fishing is one of the summer's all time dramatic past times. Time seems to stand still until the line goes taut, then your adrenalin goes crazy. Watchingmy children begin learning all the tricks nf the fishing world is very exciting. I have gotten caught up in their excitement, their faces glowing with anticipation, awaiting their catch. I realized that the distortion of the size of ones catch begins in childhood. When every fish nearly breaks the line, and is most certainly the largest most grand fish in the existence of the world. The stories about this summer's fishing season probably will last through the cold winter days, when tiie youngsters begin planning next years great catch. So this weeks craft is to enhance the stories of the great fishing season and to have more than a memory of the fish caught. Afew essential items need to be with your fishing gear to enable the children to create a fishing craft. Mntprinla Needed: Craft paint, in a variety of colors that your children like ( craft paint comes in small easy to pack containers.) A medium size foam paintbrush ( 2 to 3" in size), several pieces of 1 1 by 1 8 construction paper, and a large If you can't afford the white (several sizes larger than the child soitcan be used asapqjama shirt). To do This crafl is to create a one dimensional memory and although the fish can be eaten after creating this craft, I hope you have other fish to eat for dinner! Wash ofFthe fish and either airdry or dry with a paper towel. Lay the fish on its side and paint the fish with the color of choice, then pick up the fish and place on paper, do careflilly so it will not smear. Let paper dry then date the paper and list who caught it and where it was caught Repeat on the shirt, again remember to be very careful. Practice on the paper first so you by the time you get to the will have figured out how to do it. The Crafl Comer wishes you and yours a happy summer and wants to let you know that for UBIC this year that there will be three days of crafts and games for the children of the community hosted by non otherthan the Craft Comer. There will be several unique and exciting crafts for children to eqjoy and many games to play, all free of charge! I sure hope to see as many children of the community as possible!
