Brisbin Harrison Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, William Long Bill Brisbin passed away April 10, 2001, Center. He at Dixie Regionall was bom September 22, 1917 in Collbran, Colorado to Milton and Ruth Brisbin. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jean Turner on June 27, 1938, they were sealed June 27, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the Churchof Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many church positions. Hayden Clement. Bud11 Harrison, age 78, passed away April 9 2001 at his home in Lapoint, Bywater Anna Laura WarburtonBywater, age 92, passed away April 4, 2001 at Care Center in Bounty Utah. She was bom July 11, 1908 in Vernal, Utah to Abram and Annin Hay Warburton, the fifth of six children. She lived in Lapoint, Utah until her marriage to My lan Bywater on July 28, 1933 in Vernal, Utah. Dur-in-g World War II she lived in California while her husband served in the military. Then they lived in Clearfield where she was employed at Hill Air Force Base. In 1959 they built a home in Syracuse where she lived until 1999. The last two years of i life were spent at Rocky ML Care Center in Bountiflil. The family expressed thanks to the kind staff there. Laura wasamemberofthe Church ofJesus Christ ofLatter-da- y Saints in the Syraduse 7th Ward where she was faithhilly visited by kind and earing Bishoprics, Relief Society Presidencies, Visiting Teachers and Home Teachers and many loving friends and neighbors. She loved these visi ts. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and the organ and in her younger years was frequently asked to sing on local programs. Laura loved her dogs espKially her Pekingese named ling Ling. She also said to be happy she neededmusic and bright colors. Her yard was full of flowers. She was very patriotic and always rememberedVetennsandfiuniyand friends with flowers from her yard on Memorial Day. She ia survived by one brother, Earl (Mae) Warburton, Lapoint, Utah; and many nieces and nephews. One niece, Earlene (Loyal) Warburton Johnson, of Fruit Heights was very William LonguBilln Brisbin Hayden Clement Bud Harrison Anna Laura Warburton Bywater while working on his farm. He was bom September 8, 1922 in Lapoint, Utah the second of 14 chil- dren of Jeremiah and Elisabeth Tammy Kay White T. White Tammy Kay White, age 41, of Duchesne, died April 11, 2001. She was bom November 29, 1959 in Salt Lake City to Carl Junior and Laurel Gail Butterfield Williams. She married Paul Roy White August 9, 1983 in West Jordan. Tammy grew up in the Salt Lake area since her marriage she has lived in Provo andSalt Lake and moved to Duchesne 5 years ago. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and liked to have company come to the house. She enjoyed camping and outdoor activities when health would allow it She is survived by her husband, Paul, of Duchesne, sons and daugh- ters, Shane Williams, Bobby Bishop, Heather White, Paul White, Ronnie White, and William White; 2 grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, Wayne (Kelly) Williams, and Jimmy (Lori) Williams of Salt Lake City; Sharon (Gary) Lewis of Duchesne. ; Funeral services held. He married Marlene Bleasard (Coyle) on April 3, 1970 in Lapoint. Bud attended school in Lapoint and graduated from Alterra High School. Bud wasalifelong fanner and rancher in Lapoint. He loved beingout-of-door- s, camp-i- n horseback and g, hunting, fishing, riding. He had a cattle permit on Ashley Foreetfor many years. He was a member ofthe Uintah Basin Grazing Asocation (The Dirty Dozen?) landowners on Diamond Mountain. He served his Country in the US Army asaSeabeein the 865 Engineer AVN Battalion in the Philippine Islands from 1943 1946 during World War II. He loved to read and talk about the history ofthe Old West He loved all children and eqjqyed sgoil- ing his grandchildren and them to feed cows with him. He enjoyed going to the Auction and took the grand kids with him whenever he could. Family reunions were extremely important to Bud. He took every opportunity to get together with his extended family. He was a member ofthe Church ofJesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he enjoyed many callings includingElders Quorum Instructor and High Priest Assistant. He loved being a home teacher. They will be leaving from the Vernal Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management, 170 South 500 East, Vernal, at 8: 15 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m. The following sites will be visited: Shenandoah Energy Oil and Gas, Fantasy Canyon, Natural Buttes, and the Pariette Wetlands. On May 3, the meeting will continue with a panel discussion. The panelists, which represent the county, state, industry, wildlife and wilder- ness interests, will speak on their perspectivea on land gas issues and the complexity in dealing with them on public lands. This meeting will be held at the Western Park Convention Center, 302 East 200 South, Vernal, Utah, from 8a.m. until noon. A public comment period ia scheduled from 10: a.m., where members of the public may address the council. Hunting and fishing were a favorite among his other outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife Jean and four daughters; Billie Jean (Brant) Nelson of Hurricane, Utah, Judy (Charles) Bartlett of Smithfield, Utah, Linda (Keith ) Nielsen of Myton, Utah and Christine Brisbin of St. George, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 52 half-sister- -- ' in Roosevelt, Utah until his retirement, after 27 years. He and his wife served a mission in San Antonio, Texas. They then moved to St. George, to eryoy the sun, and have resided therefor 7 years. He enjoyed life to the flillest, a day never went by that he didnt make Jay Weston Thomas, age 76, of -- RAC He was employed by L & L Motor Duchesne, died April 9, 2001 at Stewart's Care and Rehabilitation Center in Roosevelt. He was born February 27, 1925 in Tabiona to Jessup and Irene Cope Thomas. He married Marie Buckale w June 30, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. J.W. worked as a rancher until 1948 when he went to work for Chevron and worked for them 33 years, many of them as the operator of the Hanna Pump Station. When he retired from there he owned and operated Basin Fuel for many years, sell-in- g coal fired furnaces and hauling the coal. He enjoyed working in the yard and around the place. In his earlier years he loved to hunt and fish. He was a Veteran ofWorld War II, serving in the US Army. J.W. is survived by his wife, of Duchesne; two children: Weston LaMar (Carol) Thomas, Payson; and Karen Marie (Don Wayne) Babcock, Duchesne; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; Three sisters, Ina VanTassell Myers of Ogden, Irene Griffith of Murray, and Linda (Dale) Gines of Hanna. Jeese Lee, 20, Roosevelt, sustained multiple injuries when his clothing became entangled in a section of rota tingpipe that Lee was holding at a rig location approximately 15 miles south of Ouray, Monday, April 9. Ute Tribe Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and he was transported to the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City by a Life Flight helicopter where he is listed in critical condition. Mathews Ruthford John Mathews, age 76, ofRoosevelt, died April 7,2001 m the Uintah Basin Medical Center. He was bom November 21, 1924 in Bluebell to Zeary John and Beulah Jane Anderson Mathews. He married Ruth Bills September 30, 1947 in Riverton. Their marriage eras solemnized in the Salt Lake IDS Temple June 5, 1969. Ruthford served in the 6 Marine Division during World War II, in the Okinawa campaign and Japan Occupational Forces. He was a lifelong rancher and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Duchesne County. He loved to work and keep busy. He kept a neat yard and shop and always had some project going, such as rebuildingold farm equipment or making Christmas toys for the grandchildren. He also enjoyed getting out to see the sight and history of the area. He was an active member of the Church ofJeus Christ ofLatter-da- y Saints and had served in the Elders and High Priest leadership. He and Ruth served three Welfare Service Missions in the Employment Office and Cannery.
