Taking Cow Elk During Deer and Elk Archery and Muzxleloader Seasons Hunters will have additional chances to take a cow elk after the board approved a recommendation allowing aivhery and muxxleloader Permit Hunters who have already obtained a bull elk or a cow elk permit will not have to wait until September to purchase an additional cow elk permit this year. Instead, they may apply for one through the draw for permits that are still left after the first antleriesa draw. A list of permits remaining after the first draw will be available Aug. 10 and applications for them will be accepted until Aug. 20. During the last two years, hunter have been able to purchase an additional cow elk permit hunters, hunting during Utah's ar- chery and muzxleloader deer and elk seasons, to take their cow elk during those seasons. To take a cow elk during those seasons, archer and muuleloader hunter must have a cow elk permit in September. Applications for Utah's 1999 Antlerless Draw win be available by Juno 10, from license agents and Division office. To bo included in the draw for permits, applications must be received through the mail or an overnight mail service, at the address listed on tha application, no latsr than 5 pm., Juno 28.
