They have three all athletes who sionally coached football and track. grown children By Mary Werte Union High Safety Club honored by media & state The Safety Club at Union High was recognised by KTVX Channel 4 and the Utah Public Health Association on May 14, for outstanding contributions to combat a serious public health problem. The students staged a mock car crash in front of Union High in March. The police, ambulances and emergency medical technicians raced to the crash as if it were real. One of the students involved in the mock crash was not wearing a seat belt and received extensive injuries. (Make-u- p for all injuries was applied prim to mock crash.) The students without a seat belt died in the mock crash and had to be taken away in a body bag. The greatest impact for the students occurred when they gathered in the auditorium for a funeral for the classmate. As students filed out of the auditorium they walked past an open casket that had a mirror which reflect their own face back were state players in either basketball or football. His son Jason is head basketball coach at Morgan High; Wes lives in Wyoming and works out of Salt Lake City, and and reminded them that without seat belts, the same thing could happen to any of them. The students involved were Randi Robison, Witney Duncan, Jesse Whiting, Cherie Lowe, Katrina Mustoe, Beau Glines, Dirk Olsen, SueLynn Gardner, Sidni Allred, Jason Ross, and advisors Cindy Carlson and Gail Taylor. The Officers will be attending their 2nd national conference in So. Carolina this summer! The Safety Club will receive $500, a framed certificate to display in the school and individual certificates for each student involved. Nomination for this award by Melody Scholes. I married Casey Carter (a farm boy from Mountain Home). After having five children 1 attended USU and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Betides teaching sixth grade, .Carter also teaches social studies and language arts to all of the sixth grade students. She teaches other home room subjects as well.
