They require little fertilizer and only have a couple of pests. There are larvae that love to munch on currant leaves throughout the summer, he warns. If the leaves appear to be eaten, apply a Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) product for biological control, or use a registered insecticide. Asmall worm may also occasionally be found in the fruit. Just ignore it; there is not a lot that can be done. Each family is unique and no one set of rules will work in every family, but there are some things strong families have in common. Appreciation. Former Union Cougars football stars Sam White, Kevin Wilson and Brandon Dart are fulltime University of Utah Utea. Football players are listed in the Utah Media Guide, according to with their standing in the Wa at the bottom, but that was White, No. 60, and Wilson, No. 61, are right next to each other. White, a sophomore, is a 6-offensive lineman, who won a starting job at left guard in the spring and was No. 1 or 2 going into the opener. He also was a top matman for State Union. He reached the heavyweight championship match in 1997 where he placed second. In another heavy note, White has added almost 20 pounds to his body, plays much bigger than his size and displays a hard-noseaggressive style of play on the field. White played in the final eight games ofthe 1997 season and started four at left guard. He had 47 (Ia it a block where a person is almost knocked out ofhis cleats?), which ranked him fifth on the team. The Cougar crowd moved closer and closer to the mat in anticipation of a Mighty Jolt by White in the final match, and he threw them into a wild frenzy when he pocketed his pin to give Union the win. Heath Cook gained a pin to get Union in position for the victory. Whites comment at the time was: We had to make it exciting at the end. I got lucky. He was there for the head throw and the pin. offenWilson is a sive line freshman. He came out of spring ball as the No. 2 right tackle. He was in 1997. He was an in football and along with White a member of Unions championship team in 1993. Dart, No. 42, played football at Union, but competed for North ridge High School his senior year. Injuries, which include two season-endin- g knee surgeries, have held Dart back at Utah. He has moved to the strong safety position. He has the tools: size, speed, agility and aggressiveness. In 1996 he started ten games at strong safety and was Utahs second leading tackier. He was Utahs top defensive player three times. In 1995 he returned an interception 97 yards for a touchdown in the opener. An injury in that game put him out for the season.
