You can do your fishing in the high Uintahs, in the shadows of peaks or in a pond in the middle of an alkali flat. You can fish the fast water of a mountain stream or the slow water er er snow-capp- ed River. You can fish the rivers on the north side of the Basin, the Uintah, Whiterocks, Yellowstone, Lake Fork, Duchesne, or Strawberry. You can fish the lakes, a paltry 400 of them, in the Uintahs. You can fish the reservoirs in the lower country, like Pelican, Brough, Bullock, Cottonwood, Starvation, Sand Wash, Red Fleet, or Steinaker. You can wear out your line, your reel, your boots and your truck, but you wont run out Rocky mountain bighorns: These magnificent sheep once covered the Basin, but disease brought in with domestic sheep decimated them. When you get old and gray and the kids have kids of their own, they will never forget the times dad took diem fishing. No matter how far away from home they live, no matter how little time you get to spend with them, no one can ever take away the time spent fishing. grand!
