Really. Did you ever think about it? Theyre big, theyre pretty and they just set there. So what do you do with one? Go look at it? ' ' I suppose these Uintahs may not seem like much when you look at the map and compare them to die Rockies, but once you've been to the top of these mountains, you wont see anything new in the Rockies. But you wont ever know unless you go look them over. There are several ways to approach this topic. You could, if your imagination is limited, just drive around and peer out die car window. Now, dont get me wrong. You could see plenty of pretty that way. Heck, you could sec so much pretty that you might think you were in Colorado, or Wyoming or Montana. You might even have to see a sign to remember where youre at after while. But if you just drove around and looked at the pretty, youd leave without getting to know these mountains. The difference is kind of like looking at Cindy Crawford on TV, or getting to hold her hand and go out to dinner with her. Hang on, hang on. Dont brand me a sexist yet. You gals can substitute Mel Gibson for Cindy. Im dying to make a point, not start an aiguement Youve got to get out of the car and into dine mountains to appreciate all that they are. If you do, youll can describe the experience with just one word AWESOME! There are three ways to go as-w- Course, this isn't a casual approach. It does require horses and saddles and horse trailers and a couple other incidental things, ' like a pick up truck, but its well worth the effort. All this city livin(now theres a contradiction if I ever saw city and livin") has gotten a whole bunch of folks way uptighter than the good Lord ever intended them to be. Anybody with any sense at all knows He intended for everybody to have a horse and they can't do that all stacked up on each other like they doors in the Uintah Basin and youll be back get in the city. There is a certain for more. Take a look for yourself and you'll satisfaction involved in working discover what some people can only dream closely with animals. The bond about: wide-ope- n spaces, clean air, wildlife that is formed between man and & galore, spectacular scenery, peace quiet beast is a relationship that cant be and even excitement! Traffic jams would turn into tea parties, stead of fists fights. Aw, Im just kidding. Horses arent that hard to work with. I saw one once that was easy to catch. He was at die vets. Course, once the anesthesia wore off, he was a little work to get in the trailer, but die six of us eventually got it done. Good thing the vet had more anesthesia. We had to dope up two of the guys to get them to help. Back to our ride in the mountains. Seriously. There simply is nothing else in lift that matches up to the smell of pines and quakies, forty million square miles of blue sky, the smell of a saddle and the horse d underneath it and the rhythmic swaying as you sit on a sure well-oile- CONTINUED ON PAGE 2 |
