"As a result ofthis change, some people are neglecting to handwrite their Social Security numbers onto their returns, and others are writ- said. Kevin J. Smith, 33, appeared in 8th District Court in Vernal last month and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Smith was arrested in August 1997 and booked into the Uintah Countyjail after he allegedly moved his car so that it rested on the deputys foot for several seconds while the officer was standing outside Smiths vehicle talking to him. Smith is charged with third degree felony aggravated assault, speeding and driving without proper registration. A status conference has been set for March 17. The CROWN program is a n program developed by Utah Housing Finance Agency with cooperation with Roosevelt City and Vernal City, to bring home ownership within reach of very low income households. The intent is to provide housing and home purchasing opportunities, at affordable prices to people who would not otherwise have such opportunities. The homes are leased for 15 years and the end f that time the current Resident is given the opportunity to purchase that home. The sale price of the CROWN home will e determined by the remaining principal and interest owed on the property. (Successful applicants will receive a program orientation prior to signing a lease). There will be four homes available in Roosevelt and Seven homes available in Vernal, Utah.
