During the past week Roosevelt registered several -- 20 degree temperatures. This past Wednesday, Roorevelt had the lowest temperature in Utah at a -- 24 and was -21, Thursday. According to Roger Eschler of Roosevelt City, many times a pipe freezes where it joins the house from the outside. "Many homes have a finished wall, but the pipe needs to have insulation in the area where it comes into the house and follows up a cement wall. Eschler also encourages people who have a house that has a history of freezing pipes to keep a small stream of water running. It is worth it if it keeps the pipes from freezing, he said. Another area that has freezing problems is pipes located in a cabinet that is against an exterior wall. "Keep the cabinet doors open so heat can get to them, Eschler said.
