He worked as a heavy equipment operator in major construction projects throughout Utah, Nevada and Wyoming and was a member of the Operating Engineers local 3. He liked to fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife, Son and Marie, of Ballard; daughter, Wayne (Shana) Betts, Orem arid Linda (Gary) Wood, Pleasant Grove; Stepsons, Glen (Karen) Cowley, Roosevelt, Gordon (Maudelle) Cartwright, Carlin, Nevada, Bert (Bonnie) Ivie. She married Robert Elmer Young March 1, 1930 in Fruilland. Mariam was an enthusiastic supporter of all the athletic programs and attended many games because she liked to watch her back porch.
