Patrol trooper Merv Gustin pulled a vehicle over for speeding Saturday, July 2, at about 7 p.m. near Duchesne only to discover a 'J suitcase full of crack cocaine in the trunk of the car. Gustin said he had been tipped off earlier about the suspicious vehicle by a Flying "J" truck driver who witnessed the Ford Taurus cross the center of the road on a solid line and force two oncoming cars off the road. Gustin said he asked Aaron D. Wakefield, 33, and his brother, Jhan Wakefield, 35, for permission to search the rental car they were driving and they agreed. In the trunk of the car Gustin found 140 grams of crack cocaine inside a suitcase packaged in plastic and wrapped in duct tape. The drugs have an estimated street value of $14,000. Both men have been charged with a second degree felony count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and a third degree felony for dealer in possession without affixing tax stamps. Selling alcohol to a minor is a Class B misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
