July 1. 1992 - Page 13 YMcovnt Houston attends national "To Your Health" FFA Conference in D.C. eFFA WAW'MIGK By U'uidy Duncan Howard Houston of Rooaevelt, Utah waa greeted in Washington, D.C., by Michael Bennett of New Mexico, WCP director of the National FFA Organisation while attending the week-lon- g National FFA Washington Conference Program. The program helps FFA members improve leadership skills, develop an understanding of the national heritage and prepare for more effective leadership rales in their chapters and communities. Sessions on human relations, Ar-tesi- a, by goal setting, and interpersonal communications were combined with discussions on personal outlook, motivation, and values to help members become effective leaders in the science, business and technology of agriculture. Visits to Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, the Jefferson Memorial and other historic sights in Washington were included in the conference. Houston was able to visit the offices of Senator Gam, and Con- gressman Hatch.
