Show I Education yClintah Basin Standard Teachers, youth participate in space training NASA-sponsor- ed Three East Elementary staffers plan spacey trips By Mindy Duncan Three local educator! from Roosevelt East Elementary are planning to attend special apace related workshops during the month of July. The purpose for attending these workshops is to further their understanding of the space program. These three individuals express the hope that the information accumulated from the workshops can be taught to their students, and that they will be able to expand the students knowledge of the space program. Adalee Wadi, a second grade teacher at East Elementary has received a full scholarship for the "Getting Comfortable Teaching Space. This particular program ia held in Colorado Springs, Colorado. .Paul Chambers, the principal at East Elementary will also be EDUCATORS IN SPACE-We- ll, not quite, but East Elementary teacher Addalce Wall, Principal Paul Chambers, and teacher Carole Ebright will have a great deal to teach students about space after they have completed training sessions sponsored by NASA. Huntsville, Alabama. The two boys had the opportunity to experience academic and hands-otraining needed to complete simulated space shuttle missions. The five day program of scientific experiments, realistic astronaut training and challenging lectures were designed to make kids like Chris and Matt interested in learning more about the space program. Both boys hope to attend such a camp again, and say they learned a great deal that will affect their lives. Team members learned about satellite deployment, operation of the remote manipulator arm, experimental hardware and Hubble Telescope repair, while in a full space suit. Judge Floyd Nielson, Roosevelt, performed the ceremony. The couple is from Southern California.
