PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTICE a decision to issue a special use permit to Rock Creek Ranch for the purpose of outfittcrguiding in the High Uinlas Wilderness. The associated Decision Memo is available upon request from the The purpose of this notice is to solicit public comment on thcproposal by the Region VIII Office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to issue a permit to inject fluids underground via a Gass II salt water disposal well, the Utah Tribal BACKGROUND EPA Region VIII is currently reviewing an application for an Underground Injection Control Permit from Coots Energy Company, P.O. Box 467, Golden, Colorado 80402, regarding disposal of water into the Green River Formation. The disposal fluid is water produced in conjunction with the extraction of oil from the Green River and Duchesne Ranger District office in Duchesne, Utah. The decision may be implemented within seven calendar days of the dale of publication of this notice. This decision is subject to appeal in accordance with Forest Service regulations 36 CFR Put 217. Appeals must be Tiled within 43 days of the dale of publication of this notice. Notices of Appeals must meet the requirements of 36 CFR Part 217.9. Coots Energy Company has proposed to injoct the fluids into the Green River Formation through the salt water disposal well, the Utah Tribal SWD, located in the SE14 of the SW14 of Section Duchesne County, Utah. The Utc Tribal SWD is located in the Uintah & Ouray Indian Reservation. The Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) content of the Green River disposal interval is reported, by analysis, to range from 13,000 mg1 to 22J500 mg1. The Green River and Wasatch Formations disposed fluids, as analyzed, range from 5528 mg1 to 10,495 mg 1. The Green River disposal interval will be 6246-626- 2 feet.
