Haslem Southam Football Practice Begins at Union High School, 7 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Haslem announce the marriage of their daughter, Arlene, to Brian James Southam, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hiome and the late Glade M. Southam. The marriage will be solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 8. A reception will be held in their honor on August 9 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Tridell Ward chapel. The groom is a 1988 graduate of Uintah High School. He served in the New Mexico, Albequerque mission. The bride is a 1990 graduate of Uintah High School. Both will be sophomores returning to Ricks College this fall. WEDDING VOWS-Hcai- hcr Curry and Shawn Taylor have chosen to exchange wedding vows oh August 3, 1991 at the Tabby Mountain Resort. CurryTaylor Mr. and Mrs. Oran Curry of Tabiona an pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Heather to Shawn Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Taylor of Duchesne on Saturday, August 3, 1991. Heather is a 1991 graduate of Tabiona High School when she was active in cheerleading, Drill Team and Volleyball. She is now attending the UBATC in Roosevelt where she is training to be a nurse. Shawn is a 1989 graduate of Duchesne High School where he was active in FFA and Wrestling. He attended the Universal Technical Institute where he trained as an Auto and Diesel mechanic. He is presently employed at Brads Truck and Trailer in Roosevelt The couple is planning to make their home in Duchesne. A reception and dance will be held on Saturday, August 3rd from 7:30 to 12:00 p.m. at the Tabby Mountain Resort on Tabby Mountain. The Womens Service League of Roosevelt is always involved in making our community a better place to live. They sponsor the Jr. Miss Pageant which contributes slot to the growth and development of the young ladies in our area. In addition, they have sponsored many fund raising activities all to the benefit of our community, including the library and many other facilities in our town. They recently sponsored a youth activity day on the 24th of July. In the four year old; Matthew Johnson, son of Wayne and Colleen Johnson, and Whitney Lunt daughter of Dan and Janet Lunt The Queen was Natalie Miles, daughter of John E. and Beth Miles, and the King was Landon Eldredge, son of Kevin and Annie Eldredge. The chairpersons of this years show were Cheryl, Tara, and Amy TO BE MARRIED Shcric Marlene Dc Costa and Stephen Gingell have chosen August 9th to be married in the Jordan River Temple. De Costa Gingell Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L De Costa of Frenchtown, Montana announce the marriage of their daughter, Sherie to Stephen Wade Gingell son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Gingell. They will be married Friday, August 9th in the Jordan River Temple. Stephen graduated from Union High School in 1987 where he participated in baseball, and basketball and was a Seminary graduate. He went to Snow College far one year and then filled an LDS mission to Alaska. When he returned he attended Ricks College in Idaho. Sherie graduated with honors, from Frenchtown High School in 1990. She then attended Ricks College. They will be returning to Ricks this fall and continue their education. There will be an Open House honoring the young couple at the Russel Gingell home in Myton on August 9th from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Bowen. This year's show was a great success, with over 500 spectators attending. It was held at the Roosevelt Junior High on Saturday, July 27th. Approximately 150 contestants participated and 20 were chosen. It was one of the largest shows in 11 yean. Gib and Araks Hullinger have recently returned from San Berna-dioCalifornia where they attended the baptism of their granddaughter, Megan. Megan is the daughter of Rodney and Lisa Hullinger. They spent six days with Rodney and Lisa and then n, traveled to St. George to visit with their other son, Clayton and Julie Hullinger. They also visited with another son, Steven and Debbie Hullinger and family in Santaquin before returning to Roosevelt Mr. and Mrs. Earl Murphy received word from Fairfield, California that they are now grandparents of an eleven pound baby boy, bom July 24th to Mr. and Mrs. Kim Murphy. The baby is named Calabe Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Murphy attended the Murphy family reunion in Charleston, Utah last Saturday. All of Mr. Murphys living listers attended. They are Della Liddell, Viona Gailey, and Vemetta V! SEW (MY Carol Butterfield of Herriman spent two days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Murphy. She also visited with her brothers, Morriss, Jimmy Jenkins, and Von Edwards. Thelma Shields and her granddaughter, Mindy Duncan spent the weekend in Ogden with Thelmas daughter and family, Dave and Gloria Maugham. Thelmas granddaughter, Nickole Maugham won the title of Misa Rodeo Utah and will reign as queen for 1991-9Colleen and Ashley Gardner of Ogden, Beveriy, Lindsay and Alex Thompson of Murray and Dr. and Mrs. Michael Saffle and son, Thomas, from Christian sburg, Virginia ware weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields spent the 24th of July in Salt Lake visiting with their children at the homes of JoAnn Shields in Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Brett Thompson, from Murray. The Union High School Cougar Marching Band, accompanied by band director Brad Collins and his wife, Elaine, and several band parents, traveled to Salt IjV to participate in the Days of47 Parade. This year they were judged, and cams home with 4th place among 15 high school bands. Congratulations to this fins band made up of students from Union High School, Roosevelt Jr. High, and West Jr. High. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Dennis from Richmond, Utah spent the afternoon last Friday with Elvins aunt, Zelma 2. Lloyd. Mr. and Mrs. Jack McArthur and granddaughter, Loren Moser from Upalcot just returned from visiting (heir daughter, Kristi and Rick White and family in Elk Grove, California.
