March 23, 1988 dUintah (Basin Standard Roosevelt Stars in competition The Roosevelt Stars will be competing in the Miss Junior Dance and Drill Competition Saturday, Maixh 26 at Box Elder High School in' Brigham City. The Roosevelt Stan will be competing against eight other teams from UtahT Each team is given a rating superior, excellent, or outstanding--(b- r their performance. The rating is based on appearance, routines, execution, and showmanship. Special awards of distinction will also bo given, including choreography, execution, showmanship, difficulty, prop, originality, costume, theme, formations, appearance, and technique. The team competition will begin at 8:00 p.m. with the Solo competition beginning at 10:16 a.m. Five members of the Roosevelt Stars will be competing against 171 ; ladies from across the state solo competition. Soloists from the Uintah Basin area are Kristin Rogers, 9th grade, daughter ofBrad and Joyce Rogers; Shelby Nelson, 7th grade, daughter of Steve and Paula Nelson; Nicole Muirhead, 6th grade, daughter of Merle and Kathie Muirhead; Jannette Croushore, 6th grade, daughter of Pun Muir; and Valerie Jenkins, 3rd grade, .jlaughter of Dennis and Diana i Goodspeed chosen for national drilHeam Jill Goodspeed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Goodspeed, has bean selected to represent Utah as a member of the National Spirit Ambassadors ' an Drill team.
