engineer fireman and nine tramps killed and bodies burned to A hes engine jumped the track and the entire tra n except ng one car and caboose went up n a heap berty feet H gh missoula mont A special east bound freight train consisting ol 01 forty one cars of lumber and a ca boose was wrecked near held station about ten miles west of here at 6 clock sunday morning at least eleven lives were lost about a mile from the 0 keefe tres tie on a steep mountain grade as the train was running at a terrific speed along the side of a hill the engine went off the track and the entire train excepting one car and the ca was piled up in a heap tort feet high shortly afterward fire broke out and the entire train was soon ablaze A wrecking train was sent out from here but owing to the intense heat at the burning lumber it was impossible to get near the wreck engineer L D bierne and fireman ed juliette were incinerated brakeman G A murphy who was dangerously injured was brought to this city his skull was badly crushed and several ribs were fractured it is thought he also sus talked internal injuries according tt conductor garber there were at least twelve tramps on board the ill fated train only three of whom have been found
