Show I UJintafo Sports Basin Standard Duchesne to start wrestling season The Duchesne wrestling squad has much to look forward to this year as they qualified five for the state wrestling meet last year and four of those are returning to see action this year. According to Coach Dave Moat, this is the best team he has seen at Duchesne and he said the kids were capable of going as far as they wanted to this year. Last year the lightweights were weak as they did not even have a 105 wrestler and their 98 pounder really weighed only 85 pounds. Also two other wrestlers were lost from the team because of grades that weakened the lower weights. Enhancing the team this year, are two new boys from Phoenix that have moved into the area. Also Darrin Ercanbrack will be returning to the team this year and he placed at State two years ago for Duchesne. Travis Pealross will return to the at 98 this year. Ronald from Hurricane, Stratton, a move-iwill be vieing for the 105 position Bryan Werisma will be at 1 19. Jeff Ercanbrack will be at 128 but Paul Reinhart also wants that position and this is just one of three or four positions that will have some real dog fights for varsity," said Moat. Dave Wilkerin will be at 132. Darrin Ercanbrack will start at 138 with Ray I.iddell following him at 145. Rob Lapreze and Mike Trulcy will be at 155 and 185 with M inf Carter at 185 and Carman Pitt at team n Unlimited. Moat said that wrestling is a dedication sport, that you have to put in that little extra if the State Championship is obtaim-- and he felt this year's team had the capacity to go all the way if they wanted to.
