Show 7 1 1 Thursday, May Cats compete well at Region Six Union students placed in eight events for State representation this Saturday at Lehi, The Cougars placed fourth in . the Region event with 30.75 points. Lehi and Wasatch dominated the meet with 93.5 and 92.75 points respectively. Grantsville came in third with 36 points and Morgan was fifth with five-tea- qualifying tor state was L.ynn Johnson in the high jump at 57 and the Cougars mile relay team placed third with a time of 3:49.97. The girls bred about the same with three Region first places and a tie. Beverly Mortensen was first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:46.7. Also the Union 400 meter m relay team placed first with a time of 54.06. Members of that team were Leslie Peraval, Lisa Weider, Heidi Atnip and Elva Ames. Beverly Mortensen was the other placer for first place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:04.76. The Cougar's medley relay team placed second in the meet with a time of 4:40.19. Members of this team were Heidi Atnip, Lisa Weider, Elva Ames and Beverly Mortensen Elva Ames tied for firrf in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.23. She tied with W asatch. ' Lisa Weidner placed third in the high jump Fourth placers were Karmin Eldredge in the dicus bv throwing it 883", and Lisa Weidner in the 300 meter hurdle s with a time of 54.05. Fifth place winners were Teresa Houston in the high jump and Karmin Eldredge in the shot putt The Lady Cougars placed third in the Region meet behind Lehi at first, and Morgan in second place.
