Hwy 40 Roosevelt Myton Presbyterian Church On Mothers Day Ken Pearson brought fellowship from Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Salt Lake. He opened the service with the Call to Worship 7. The from Psalms 145:3-4- , congregation read in unison Proverbs 31:1931, In Praise of a Good Woman. The Offertory Meditation was based on Luke 16:10 and the Scripture reading was Luke 7:36-3Mr. Pearson's message was entitled The Banquet. Commenting on his appreciation of the writings of C.E. McCartney, who often writes of the past as though he had been present, Ken told the story of Jesus at the the banquet given by Simon Pharisee in graphic detail. His description of the women who washed the feet of Jesus with her tears was so thoughtful and realistic that it was easy to picture her in your minds eye. The concluding though that was presented was, as Jesus told Simon, the woman wasn't forgiven because she loved much, but loved much because she was forgiven. Follwingthe hymn of going forth, the congregation and Ken gave the words of going forth: Go and share with others the good news that God loves you and me. And Jesus Christ leads us to grsce that we might sense His victory. Amen. Each mother present was given a lovely rose, courtesy of Laura and Joe Thompson's thoughtfulness. A pot luck lunch was enjoyed in the church kitchen. Next Sunday our scheduled speaker is Mr. Roy Carter, a lay speaker provided by the American Baptists. Everyone is invited to attend and share in this worship service. Members of the church Session will meet at the church Tuesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. Robert Rigstad, moderator, is expected to attend.
