Parents (4 the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Keel, Roosevelt, and Mr. ami Mrs. Jack Mieure, Mr. and Mra. Richard E. Long announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tammie, to Dennie Mecham, son of Mr. and Mra. Don H. Mecham, Neola. The couple will be married Friday, Nov. 14, in the Neola ChapeL A reception in the Neola Church, honoring the couple, will follow the wedding ceremony. The reception will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. A program will be held at 9 p.m. The couple plan to reside in Roosevelt. Neighborhood Sewing Club Mrs. Fawn Leavitt was hostess to eleven members of the Neighborhood Sewing Club at her home Wednesday evening. Mrs. McGlochlin attended Westminster College, majoring in Business Administration, on the scholarship she won in the Utah Junior Miss pageant An honor student and graduate of Brighton high school she was a secretary to four psychologists, and is presently a scheduled for high school auditorium. Accordin to pageant chairman Deanne ge, a fifth judge is yet to be named. Selected thus far is Dr. McEntire, Sandy orthopedic A graduate of the University of Utah College of Medicine, Dr. McEntire has also pursued medical training in New Orleans, Boston, and Salt Lake City. He and his wife are members of the J. Welch Chorale, and he is the team doctor for the Salt Lake Gulls. Mrs. Faye Meyers, of Murray, is presently state president of Utah Federated Women's Clubs. She was named Clubwoman of the Year by the federation in 1975, and has served as western states region president A teacher's aide tor over twelve years, Mrs. Meyers also serves as secretary for a Little League Football team. . A third judge is Mrs. Salt Lake City, U1 McGlochlin, Scholarship Nov. 14 Pageant, at Union homemaker and mother. Kalvin Pike, Vernal will also serve as1 a judge. Pike is student body president at Uintah high school and has been a radio announcer for four years, three of them with KVEL radio in VeraaL He plans to attend Utah State University on a leadership scholarship, and presently serves as chairman of the teenage division of the 'Cancer Society. The winner of the local pageant will receive a scholarship and other gifts, and be eligible to participate in the state pageant in Salt Lake City. The state winner will travel to Atlanta, Ga., for the Americas Junior Miss Pageant. Historic sites discussed at meeting A public meeting to discuss historic sites in Duchesne was held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the County. Courtroom fa Duchesne. Dr. Henry Whiteside, historian fa the preservation office of the Utah Division of State History (Utah State Historical Society) discussed the National Register of Historic Places, the effects of placing sites fa the National Register, and placing historic buildings in Duchesne fa the National Register.
