Violators of the antiquities preservation guidelines are subject to a monetary fine and nr impriarmrrtAnt. In addition, the act authorizes the US. president to declare federal lands national monuments for the purpose of protecting cultural sites and objects of antiquity The statute also empowers fly prpBidpnt tr pmHwim landmarks, structures and objects ofhistoric or scientific interest on federal public lands national monuments.
