propositions REJECTED bt THE COAL OPERATORS announce their decision in reply to the demand of the miners and submit a counter proposition i sl new york the propositions of the united mine workers of america tor a readjustment of wages andt con editions in the anthracite coal fields as a whole have been denied bya the committe representing the anthracite operators As a counter alon the operators suggest that he by the anthracite coal strike commission the principles tipon which they are established by tha commission and the methods estal lashed for carrying ou t their findings and awards shall be continued for a further term of three years ram the first day of april 1906 the present agreement terminates march 31 of this year the demand of the miners that the operator enter into an agreement with the union Is declined on the ground that the anthracite operators stand unalterably for the open shop and again decline to make an agreement with the united mine Worker rf of america an organization controlled by a rival industry
