wolf too anxious to fight dogs john F brown residing on the dob bin arm mile east ot the city ot godfrey recently brought to the city eight gray wolf pups which were caught in his hog pasture near a pub lie road it wa noticed lor several days that an old mother gray would run out to the road when wagons passed followed by a dog and she fully whipped several dogs on mon day mr brown stationed his boy near the road with a gun when the old aalt ran out to the road to attack the first dog the boy shot her but failed to inflict a mortal wound she was tracked by the trail of blood to her nest where eight pups were found and captured fort acott republican
