Show scandinavian conference despite the fact blat disappointment was felt on all sides at the absence of president anthon 11 II lund whose presence was anticipated the scandinavian conference held in the tabernacle on sunday last was a most successful gathering and a splendid time was enjoyed by those who attended the visitors from out of town were john A hansen editor of Bl Bi kuben president adam L petersen Peter seh ot of the scandinavian organization of weber county bishop john H anderson of logan anthon pehrson of the scandinavian organization presidency of logan arid and thorvald of the logan post office force beside these a number of local Ep speakers eakers delivered addresses all of which were short and spirited so BO the consensus of opinion at the close of the conference was that it was the best conference yet held two sessions were held in the morning and afternoon aftem oon and many of the returned missionaries who have labored in the scandinavian countries were present and occupied seats on tile the bishops shops stand and the front seats in the body of the house the meetings were enlivened bs bg splendid musical numbers by the choir under the leadership of julius bruun and some splendid numbers were rendered also including orchestra selections by the edward larsen orchestra A change was effected in the organization made necessary by the resl gna tiou tion of A al nelson as counselor to president H C C J sorensen was sustained as first counselor and P H sorensen as second counselor to president miss lilly knudson who has served as organist for the past three years was also given an honorable release with a vote of 0 thanks but no one was sustained to succeed her the attend ence at both sessions of tic conference was very gratifying I 1 |
