other great F res the chicago fire started october 8 1871 and within two tino hours the host bost part of the city was in flames the waterworks were destroyed leaving the city completely at the mercy ol 01 the fire A stretch of acres was swept clean and 3 buildings were burned loss the great boston doston fire took place no vember 9 1872 it swept away the substantial business portion of the city desolating alty five acres ol 01 bride brick and granite buildings loss 75 in the seattle fire of june 6 1889 the entire city was practically destroyed there was not one brick left in the business district loss 15
