71 1 LOVES THE PRAIRIES miss anna gray is del gated with her western canada home anna C gray Is a oung young lady form erly of michigan she la Is now a resi dent of western canada and the fol lowing published in the brown city cit mien mich I 3 banner are extracts from a friendship letter written about march 15 to one of her jady lady friends in that vicinity in this jetter letter is given some idea of the climate soc al aduca conal and rel alous conditions of A al berta the beautiful laud land of sunshine ond I 1 appy homes averone Ove rone hundred thousand americans haie hae made west ern canada their home within the past five years and in this year ear up wards of 50 will tale tal e up homes there miss gray took her leave for aids bury alberta the home of her sister and other relatives and friends on jan 10 last and after a two months so journ in her western prairie ho home me she writs of it as follows I 1 know I 1 shall grow to love the prairies we have a beautiful view of the moun bains and it seems wonderful to roe ing to see home after home for miles and it Is becoming thickly settled all around us with the exception of the last fer few das days which have been cold and stormy wo we have haye iad I 1 ad beautiful spring weather ever since I 1 came the days are beautiful I 1 call this the land ol 01 the sun as it seems to be always shining the nights are cold and frosty on arriving here I 1 was mas so greatly surprised in every way aids bury Is quite a business little town all the people I 1 meet are so pleasant and hospitable they have tour four churches in D asbury the baptist presbyterian evangelical and men bonite the evangel cals have just completed a randsome and some church very large and finely furn shed costing 2500 2 they have a nice I 1 ferary society here meets every two weeks they have fine musical talent here your friend al ai na C cray
