Show Wednesday, September 11, Page 1974 GPCC PARTY The Greater Park City Company held its First Annual Employees Party on Friday, September 6th. The activities which began at 4 PM included volleyball, tether-bal- l, horseshoes, a contest, and a softball hole-in-o- ne game. The hole-in-on- competition was won by Bill Plum- e mer. Golf and tennis tournaments were staged earlier. The mens tennis title was garnered by Jack Johnson and the womens crown went to Mardi Smith. Low gross in the blind bogie golf competition went to Steve Kemp and the low net was recorded by Bill Renfroe. In the handicap class, the low gross was posted by Dave Hanna and Merle You Havent Got a Hare Huseth had the low net. The days highlight had to be the softball game. The .corporate wheels took the field ( we use the term loosely) against the lower echelon. Although not an artistic success, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. A standout in the game was Glove Zabriskie who manned the many pieces of acoustical tile that comprised first base. Glove displayed unnatural talent for being hit by the ball while standing on the sidelines. KIWANIS SUMMER PROJECT The installation of cement block walls and mine cars at the City Park has been the summer project of the Kiwanis dub. Wood will be burned in each mine car so that food may be cooked above. The project will help to facilitate the task of cooking a large amount of food for a large gathering at the Park. RELAYER If you can see Lewis Peak or have a TV antenna, chanIn connection ces are that you can also get KSL-Fwith Summit County, KSL installed a new relayer station four weeks ago. Beamed towards Park City, Coalville, and Kamas, the FM station is located at 105.5 on the dial. KSL also has plans for installing new television equipment. Installment is being held up until KSL receives licensing permission from the FCC. KSL-F- M M. 10-wa- tt 10-w- att MERCHANTS MEETING The Merchants Association met Friday, September 5th, for what was termed an emergency situation. The merchants concerns centered around a new business license fee schedule. Deciding to seek legal advice, the Association will air its complaints in the open town meeting to be held Thursday, September 12th at 7 PM. The Merchants Association feels it imperative that all merchants attend the open meeting. FOR GOD AND CONTRI A water truck went belly up after it rumbled down the hillside near the Theriot Spring reservoir site. This accident is the latest in a series of mishaps which have befallen the vehicle owned by the Contri Construction Company. SHEEP MASSACRE AT BONANZA FLATS SLC Departure Schedule Departs Continental Bus Depot 8:30am Wednesday morning, September 4th, 33 lambs were killed by a pack of dogs up at Bonanza Flats near the Number Three Mine. Miners aided the sheepherders in pulling the dogs off the herd . All dog owners are being urged to exercise control over their dogs so that such tragedies can be averted in the future.
