Show The Deseret Sampler, Friday, March 21, 1975 (Continued Cross Gets Grilled from Front Page) Although this summer program is set up for teenagers, all personnel at Dugway wishing to take one or more of the above courses may do so. Cost for each of the courses will be $48.50 for and $20.00 for Dugway residents. The $48.50 for covers quarters, meals and the cost of the course. The $20 for residents only covers the cost of the course. All transportation to and from Dugway will be the responsibility of each individual. In addition to the above costs there will be a charge of $4 per flight in the Glider Flight course. THIS WILL not be a military oriented program. This is a program of iastruction, good solid classroom work and practical experience packed into a two week period. There are no formations, no haircut regulations, no uniforms, etc. Even though the program is not military oriented it should lie said that any person or persons who cause trouble while attending this program, will lie dropped with no refund and sent home or liack to thrf duty section. A limit erf 100 students per two week period has lieen set, so early registration is advised. Test flifchts of the RPV, which is being developed under Army contract, are currently being held at Fort Huachuea, Aria. RPVs are small TV and laser equipped aircraft controlled from the ground and designed for surveillance, target acquisition and laser designation. The miniature RPV has a wing span. weighs 120 pounds and can carry a 30 lb. payload. It can fly up to 140mph, has an operational radius in excess of 12 miles and can remain aloft over two hours. The units TV imagery and other data will be sent back to the ground station that controls the aircraft.
