It was proliably derived from artre, northern pagan goddess of Spring. Many European ountries use a form of the word Paschal" derived from the ewish Passover, instead of Easter. Resurrection literally means the uprising of the ixxly, i.e., I stand up again. Do we really realize the importance of this resurrection nut we oliserve at this season of the year? CHRIST never foretold His death without foretelling his Lsing again. (Mark 8:31. 9:31.) PETER: Chief apostle and witness for Jesus Christ, emphasized the resurrection: Cod raised Jesus from the dead (Acts ::21; 2:32, 3:15; 4:10; 5:30; 10:40; 1 Peter 1:21.) PAUL: Vigorous apostle and exponent of the resurrection, lentioned Christs resurrection in every epistle except one. hileinon.) Hostesses Celia Rothkopf and Nancy Carter showed their many talents by presenting a table filled with gourmet treats. It should be noted that although die above ballots represent die feeling of the Executive Board it may not be representative of die general PTA. Further, it was the concensus of the Executive Board that all interests would be best served by a combination of die respective talents of the Advisory Council and the PTA. Specifically, if die Advisory Council became a standing committee of the PTA, both groups would become stronger. The PTA would benefit because it would have closer ties with the secondary school environment and die Advisory Council would benefit since it would share in die resources that are available to the PTA. These resources include die backing of a national and state organization plus finances cm a local level. The Advisory Council would also have greater continuity from one year to the next. The principal drawback to this arrangement is that the advosiry council would be subjected to a formality of organization that they have rejected during this academic year. For this reason and this reason alone, the Executive Board has decided on taking the approach of die first recommendation recognizing that it would be regarded as 'an invasion of the Advisory Councils purview. However, die Executive Board feels that die association's purview was invated by the Superintendent of Schools when he directed the establishment of advisory councils without communicating with the existing PTAs. It is noted that in this case (as in most others) two wrongs rarely make a right. The spirit of this recommended action is that the interests of our children uid young people would best be served by a strong, viable PTA, that provides more than one line of communication. The feeligns of the general PTA will lie demonstrated when the ballots are tabulated following the meeting on March 31. Another significant item of business will be the election of two members for the nominating committee. The elected memliers will join Karen Bruce to provide a slate of officers for the coming academic year. Since the above recommendations, if passed, require by law changes it is imperative that as many association members as possible (at least two thirds) come out and cast their ballots. This meeting will be conducted at 7 p.m. on March 31 in the High School Gym. The program that evening will consist of an open house at the High School so that the entire PTA may liecome better informed regarding the educational process and progress that takes place there. ' NAGE MEETING TONIGHT. How many of us have seen that on (Misers and heard our friends and business associates say that throughout the course of a working clay. But yet how many of as have really taken the time to find out what NAGE really means. I know you are all going to say Its the Naticxial Assn, of Govt Employees, or its the union, lint do you really know what all those words add up to? NACE stands for cooperation lietween employees 'and management, working together for die benefit of Ixith. Unions do far more than fight for higher pay. One worker alone and unrepresented hasverylittle influence, but joining with his fellow employees, he can bargain with his employer in matters such as training for advancement, safer working conditions and personnel procedures and of course equal opportunity for all workers. In addition to solving formal and informal disputes between employees and management, NAGE has and will continue to keep its members informed of all matters which concern their particular positions and the future of Dugway in general. Then too. Isn't it a little comforting to know that during an illness there is a working force liehind you guaranteeing you your position when you are able to return to work, not to mention the insurance benefits that your family will lie provided in the event of death. All Is not work however with NAGE as was evidenced on March 8th by all the community who attended the Annual Union Dance. The new twist 1 icing of course, the reopening of the American Legion Hall for the fun affair. The hall has been closed since 1973 and I know the community joins me in welcoming its return to operation.
