The clause, eliminated in subcommittee, would have required an additional desulfurization unit at the Magna plant, currently being modernized. No one will know how efficient the new plant is until its in operation, KCC attorney Keith Taylor explained. As it is, the committee has voted to allow the present S02 regulations to be in effect until 1980. Kennecott is building facilities adequate to handle gases emitted from two of three reactors in Magna, and the third reactor is slated for use only when air conditions allow dispersion of its emissions without treatment. The eliminated regulation would not have allowed gases to bypass a desulfurization unit. But the controversy is not quite over, according to committee executive secretary A1 Rickers. We hope to have some major revisions in the regulations ready by January of next year, Rickers said. In the meantime, we're going to assemble all the information we can on sulfur emissions. The elimination of that clause is basically only temporary." i si: ,S1 ONE DOLLAR worth of dry cleaning Expires Feb. 28, 1978 363-682- 7 Dry Cleaning Shirt Laundry We are fussier than our customers and our service is unsurpassed.
