He also served in the Army and completed a mission for the LDS Church. After he returned from his mission, John married Lois Timmins, daughter of Joe and Myrle Timmins, Smith-fielThey began working toward their college degrees d. with Lois finishing first, obtaining a degree in elementary education and began teaching so John could finish his schooling. John obtained a bachelors degree in landscaping architecture and environmental planning in 1973. He worked in Rich County for a year as a planner, but he had a strong desire to work more in the landscaping area of his training. He finally decided to start a landscaping business of his own and offer people the landscape planning and design aspect, as well as construction and installation of the plans. Johri has reallyenjoyed this arrangement because he can install the design that he has planned on paper and have the satisfaction of seeing it come to life in the actual landscaping.
