He was born February 1, 1904, in Clarkston, a son of David and Ella Thompson Sparks. He married Donna Mendenhall December 15, 1928, in Logan. She died May n, 22, 1967. Mr. Sparks had been a farmer in the Clarkston area throughout his life and was a member of the Clarkston LDS Ward. He is survived by six sons and one daughter: Ray Arthur Sparks, Whittier, Calif.; Alan Boyce, Layton; Byran William, Honey ville; J. William Barker Theron Barker, prominent resident of Newton, died Friday at his home following a long illWilliam 65, ness. He was born March 6, 1910, in Newton, a son of William J. and Francis Parsons Barker. He married Aileen Leathern Swift June 1, 1933, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Talbot, Bountiful, and Mrs. Nephi (Diane) Patton, Corvallis, Ore.; 10 grandchild- ren; three sisters, Mrs. Golden (Laverne) Rigby, Mrs. William (Drew) Christiansen, and Mrs. Daisy Larsen, all of Newton. Julia Tarbet Julia Collett Tarbet, 91, died at her home Tuesday of causes incident to age. She was born Oct. 2, 1884, in Bennington, Idaho, a daughter of James Jones and Marriett Tidwell Collett. She married Nephi Tarbet June 10, 1903, in Logan. The marriage later was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Survivors include seven sons and three daughters: p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Surviving are his widow, Brigham City; sons, Phillip Abel, in the U.S. Navy, and Rory Abel, Brigham City; a stepson, Geroge Goodwin, in the U.S. Marines; one grandchild; his parents of Brigham City; brothers and sisters, Dennis and Dean Abel, and Mrs. Darrell (Janet) Cosgrove, all of Brigham City; LaMar Abel, San Leandro, Calif.; Mrs. Reed (Joyce) Carpenter, Bountiful, and Mrs. Boyd (Helen) Richman, Cornish. are two and one surviving half-siste- half-brothe- Mrs. Marriett r, Nil- sson, Raymond, Canada; Mrs. Blanche Jackson, Seattle, Wash., and Ralph Collett, Florida. Blaine Abel Blaine Abel, 47, of 24 North 1st East, Brigham A new chapter, the first ever in Richmond, was initiated with a charter banquet and installation of officers. The festivities took place in the Richmond Community Center, under the direction of Greg Robinson, vice president representing the Northern Utah District with Monte Buttars, president of the Logan Jaycees conducting. Officers include Kenneth Walton, president; Norman Allen and Mike Abbott, vice presidents and Gerry Carl- son as secretary. Selected to serve on the board of directors were Jim Williams, Craig Harris, Dennis Perry. The next meeting will be Dec. 18.
