On the same day he retired from Western Dairy Association. Joe has been associated with this same milk- plant, for 40 years, although the plant has changed owners five times. Joe began his working career when he was only 13 years old, and has been a full time employe since that time. He had many different jobs the first few years. He worked on the railroad for about five years, and at the Amalgamated Sugar Co. for about five years. He has been a part time carpenter, and farm hand. Joe was honored at a dinner, combining his birthday and his retirement cel'e- bration, on Sunday at his home. Those in attendance were his wife, Wray, Dale, Janice, Jackie, Cheri, and Mike Andrew, all of Richmond, Valerie and Larry Hatch of Richmond, Ted and Marne, Wayne, Donna, Lisa Scott, and Ryan Jorgensen, all of Amalga. Joe was born and raised in Richmond and has lived here all his life. He had only one son, Dale, who also was raised in Richmond and lives here now. BYU Education Week was Monday through Wednesday of this week. It was held at the Oakwood Elementary School in Preston, Idaho. The lecturers and entertainers were, The Ds", who gave a concert and lectured, C. Max Caldwell, Lynn A. McKinley, Mary Ellen Staley, Don Black, Etta Thompson and Thad Yost. Each Monday morning at 10:00 the Richmond children ages three to 12 will meet at the Richmond library for a story hour. Monday, June 2 was the first meeting. This is a summer project. Phillip Blair died Thursday morning about 5:00 a.m. He was 79 years old, and was survived by a son, and two daughters. Graveside services were held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Richmond Cemetery. Terry and Sydney Griggs blessed their baby boy and named him Ryan. Joseph and Cheryl Allredge blessed their new baby boy. They named him Nathan Joseph. Nathan was born last Thursday.. Bob and Claudia Christensen confirmed their daughter, Shawnee. Mr. and Mrs. Don Appedaile also confirmed their daughter, Lenonie. A new baby boy was born to Thomas and Eileen Clements Tuesday night.. The baby weighed eight pounds six ounces. The Clements plan to name the baby Tyler. ' 'David Gordon Turnbough and Ellen, his wife of two months, are living in 320 So. State in Roland Anderson's apartments. Ellen is originally from Dayton, Idaho, but worked in Salt Lake Gty for the past six years. David used to be her employer. David was born in Illinois and raised in California. . . Births LOGAN HOSPITAL A sports hero at school, David is still very interested in sports of all kinds. The Turnboughs have a trailer and plan to do a lot of fishing and hunting. After living in South Ward for only three months, David was baptized into the LDS Church here at Richmond stake house.
