Show THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 1979 - THE CITIZEN - S Family Attends School Graduation by Evelrne Moody Smlthfleld Grandparent, Arley and Orval Coleman of Smithfield and parent, Erma and Donald Franklin of Ogden attended the graduation of Miss Bonnie Franklin. She graduated from LDS Seminary Wednesday in the Ogden Tabernacle. She then graduated Thursday night from the Ben Lomond High School held at the LDS Tabernacle in Ogden, one of 415. Bonnie is a member of the Acappella choir and participated in all exercises. She is a member of the national honor society. She received three awards: (1) Hie Eagle Club award. (2) Honor student award and (S) an award with a scholarship to go to Weber College. She will be a student nurse in two weeks at Weber College. In September she will go to the McKay Hospital as a student nurse. She was one of seven to receive this honor. There were only two girls selected from Ben Lomond High School. Bonnie was vice president of the girls association this past year. Bonnie has brothers and sisters, Gail, Ned, Diane and Gary. Joan and Larry Bair and children Elsie and Bert visited a week with her parents, Afton and Wilford Woodruff in Smithfield. Visiting his sister and husband, Vera and Don Pinson-anfamily was Sarah and Kenneth Kirkbride and family of Idaho Falls, Idaho on Memorial Day. Mrs. Pinson's brother and wife, Eleanor and Ron Kirkbride of Ogden and another brother, Mary and Bill Kirkbride of Clearfield also visited. Brother Earl and wife, Rita of Dayton and Mr. Pinsons sister Ardella and husband, Purser Bosworth of Nampa, Idaho and a niece, Elana and husband, Jay Ulrich of Pocatello called as did Norma Knudson of Preston. Lunch was served and visiting done. ' Quinn and Janet Pinson and baby, Amy, have moved to Montpelier, Idaho, where Mr. Pinson has employment with the Utah Power and Light Company. Faye and Frank Johnson " and children, Scott and Laurie of Salt Lake City, and her mother, Beth Lamb, decorated paves Sunday, followed by a dinner at the home of Mrs. Lamb in Smithfield. Monday, Laura Lou Campbell and children, Ann and Joan, of Richmond, visited her mother, Mrs. Beth Lamb in Smithfield and they all decorated paves followed by lunch at Mrs. Lambs home. Aijey and Orval Coleman also visited and had dinner at the Lambs. Sunday, Fern and Hersh Keith of Ogden visited her brother and wife, Evelene and Eldon Moody. Monday another sister and husband of Ogden, Eva and Dean Yoder visited the Moo-dy- s and did some decorating. During the Seventh Ward Sacrament meeting Sunday evening Alan Sorenson, Alim Bird, Keith Ward and Stan Bingham (the Elders presidency) spoke on their duties and bore . The special music was Lo, The Mighty God Approving," by the choir and led by John Manning, accompanied by Agnes Fowler. Bonnie Gessel was released as education counselor in the Relief Society and Cheryl Roper sustained in her position. The Relief Society class leaders were set apart. Kaylene and Martin Jensen and children and Marcia and Steven Chambers and family all of Smithfield, were dinner guests of Donna and Lyle Cooley in Newton. Marcia and Kaylene are daughters of the Cooleys. Mary and Michael Evans welcomed a baby daughter May 27. She was born at the Logan hospital and weighed eight pounds three ounces and was 21 inches long. She with her mother. and father and sister, Lisa, 11, and brother, Michael, 3tt, and Amber, five, also brother, Alan, two, live at 195 W. 3rd North in Smithfield. She has grandparents, June and Jess Monson, Pleasant Grove and Gladys and Jack Evans of Malad. A great-grandmothe- r, Mrs. Bernice Am alga, announce the safe arrival of a daughter May 28 at the Logan hospital. She weighed seven pounds three ounces and was 20 inches long. She has a brother, Benjamin, a year old. Grandparents, Gladys and Roger Aston, Oregon, and Christie and Veil Johnson, Mt. Plea- of Monson Rupert, Idaho. Gwen and Ted Richards and family of Bountiful spent three days with his mother, Nora Richards in Smithfield for the Memorial weekend. Mrs. Richards brother and wife Ella and Nephi Peterson of Magna and Ellas sister, Gwen were dinner guests at the Richards home. Visiting was (fame. Mrs. Richards attended the Bountiful High School graduation Thursday evening and was pleased to see her grandson, David Richards graduate. He is the son of Gwen and Tedd Richards. sant. Nel- son, Mt. She is to be named Kay Dee Johnson and her daddy will be a seminary teacher in August in Gallup, New Mexico; aTpresenthe isastudent at Carol Dutro, Lewiston; Patty. Ann Clark, Clarks ton; Marie Bird, WdlsviUe and Sandy and Lynn Richardson and family of Ogden and her brother and wife, Mary and Dean Hadfield of Salt Lake CSty were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fern Richardson in Smithfield. They all went to the cemetery. Sunday afternoon, Winnie and Herbert Ziegler drove to Kemmer, Wyoming, to do decorating at the cemetery. Monday, the Zieglers two daughters and husbands visited them. They were Donna and Burt Issacson from and Brenda and Miles Brown of Logan. Dinner was served and the time spent visiting. Closing social for Third Ward Relief Society was held Wednesday. Jay Dene Godfrey of Logan. In Hyrum LDS Ward the baby of Lu Ann and Edward Miimig was blessed and given the name, Amber Jill by her father.. A Earl Gordon of Smithfield assisted. Following services, Mrs. Minnig served dinner at her home to her parents, Laree and Roy McMurdie of Logan and to her grandparents, Pearl and tiarl Gordon of Smithfield. She is the Gordon's seventh greatgrandchild. Sandra and Kenneth Hyer and Dusti, 7, H.C., 6, Jeff, 3, and Joey, lVfc, have moved to 1730 So. Main in Lewiston. They lived at 192 N. aid East in Smithfield. Sandra's parents are Joan and Lee Drouwe, Glendale, California, and Kenneths are Peart and Dodd Hyer of Desert Hot Springs, Califorgreat-grandfathe- r, Tre-mont- on The culture refinement lesson was given by Vicki Kent. Bette Kirk drove to Walnut Creek, Calif., to visit and help her parents, Iola and Maurice Smith. While there she serviced their pool and worked on Die grounds. They went to Felton and rode the train up to the Redwoods. They ate at Pipers Smorgasbord. She was gone one week. A few days later, Bette, Ken and sons, Sherman and Steven, drove to Bethel, Missouri, to visit and assist Kens mother, Mrs. Bertha Kirk. They pruned trees, tore down an old shed and used the lumber for a barbecue supper. Bette had to fly home after six days. Ken and the boys followed by driving borne. White there. Kens sister and husband, Kathleen and Joe mites and family, and the Kirks, etc. held a good get together. White waiting to leave the airport, Bette sat in the plane cockpit and the instruments were explained to her while they taxied around the two hours before take off due to bad weather. ' 'Alice and George Jeppsen and family had a visit from his folks, Ethel and Wallace Jeppsen of Montana on Memorial Day. Francella and Darrel Per-lan- . grandmother, Thelma Stovall, of Altus, Oklahoma, who is visiting for 2V4 months have moved from 70 East 1st N. to 192 N. aid East. Grandmother Stovall flew here from Oklahoma and. expects to fly back. Mr. Perkins repairs tele- ' visions. Nets and John Thornton have sold their home and moved to Pasco, Washing-- , ton, where Mr. Thornton is employed by the LDS church. Genevieve and Val W. Allred have moved from an apartment at 183 N. Main to their newly purchased home at 263 N. Main. Their family include Mark who has returned from an LDS mission to Chili. He will be going to BYU this fall. Then Keith on an LDS mission to Japan; David, a senior at Sky View High School; Sheldon, a junior at Sky View; Alecia in the' fourth grade at the Summit .School and Stephanie 2fc. They are originally from Star Valley. Mr. Alfred is employed with National Public Service Insurance. Bonnie Meyer, Smithfield, and the daughter of Eloise and Lloyd Meyer, 222 N. Main, has been named to the spring semester roll at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. The registers office reports students must get 3.5 grade average or above for the semester and taking at least 14 hours of class work before they can be named to the honor roll.
