In the final game, Preston fought back from a 3 deficit to take the lead 3 until the final half of the seventh inning when Soda Springs hitters combined to push across two runs on a walk, an error, and a double. Preston did, however, play fine ball during the tournament. After losing the first game 5 to Star Valley, Preston came back with a 15-- win over Malad and a 10-- 9 win over Hyrum. Jeff Maughan and David Bosen had homers during the tournament while Doug Campbell, Jeff Seamons, and Bret Hansen added vicious hitting support.
